only seen last 10 minutes. Would be fairly peeved as a fiji fan about reffing calls.

thought the disallowed try was harsh? Seemed to be downward pressure.

Was there not a penalty advantage for a high tackle on Mata before the Davies incident? I know the second penalty takes priority but I'd like to see that tackle again.to see if there should have been a sanction.

That and Biggar's tackle before the "non" no arms tackle

Not even close to downward. He had a hand underneath the ball that knocked it forward.

I thought there was several Welsh high tackles that seemed to be ignored by officials and not shown on replays.

Yeah, they're absolutely riding Fiji. 3 penalties given away after their final warning and then he blew up after North knocked on even though the ball immediately fell to a Fijian

Dan Biggar is a very unlikeable player. Shouting at his own players when he should be more concerned about making his tackles. He's fallen off 2 or 3.

The officials clearly rode Fiji in that half. In one passage of play Faletau plays the ball cynically in a ruck while lying on his stomach. And then Elias no arms chops a Fijian player as he goes over the line preventing a certain try. How Wales have avoided a YC is testament to very biased refereeing against a Tier 2 nation.

Wales trying to channel their inner fijian and its just not working.

Fiji just need a bit more ice in the veins and they will get a decent lead up.

they always get rode by the ref - hope they can finish Wales off second half

By no means to wales deserve to be ahead on the scoreboard at Ht.

I haven't seen a lot wrong with the reffing, although it does have to be said that I'm not biased when it comes to these two teams.

Both have got away with a lot at the breakdown that they shouldn't have. Fiji been unlucky with a couple of 50/50 calls, but they're not as clear cut as some here are making out.

Biggar was right to shout at his players. Time is up for half time and they are trying to run the ball from inside their own 5m. Absolute brain dead stuff.

Ha ha. Yeah wales are the team most people on this forum love to not love.

imo wales lying all over the place. But Fiji possibly sealing off a bit.

Biggar is the Welsh version of sexton. But he’s not as good a rugby player. It’s poor form lecturing your teammates.

if Fiji can not lose their head they can win this. Their backs are terrorising wales.

Back to the rugby, predictably plucky Ireland are now 2-1 down. All sport with golf, soccer, rugby gaa club. Unreal amount of games on.

    Now Fiji, finish them off!

I mean look at these fijians any one of them would be a top 3 player on any other team in the world, they have every attribute. I hope I live to see them win the world cup. Must be everyone's second favourite team.

It's hardly bias to point out a clear no arms tackle on the try line being ignored. It's a clearly incorrect decision that's cost Fiji a try and saved Wales from a stonewall yellow card.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Biggar was right to give them a bollocking for running it from under their posts with the clock in the red.

Giving North a bollocking for holding on when isolated was unwarranted though. Especially when he's either missing his own tackles or walking a fine line with high tackles.

Something definitely up with the reffing/TMOs this WC. It’s like they are trying to give the refs the decision making but because they’ve been so used to TMOs intervening they are not making any big/controversial calls?

Biggar shouting at his teammate is disgraceful teamwork.

ITV couldn't get a single Fijian into the studio. 4 Welsh lads covering this game for them and still, inexcusably, Gareth Thomas.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,078 ✭✭✭joseywhales

Biggar is there for what again?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,880 ✭✭✭TheRona

I have seen many times a player has not been penalised when they have an arm out in an 'attempt' to wrap, even if they didn't wrap. Not surprised it wasn't a penalty, but wouldn't have been surprised if it was given.

Good to see. Wales players have made a lot of really poor decisions, good that someone on the field is holding them to account. North’s 3rd World Cup ffs.

  • Registered Users Posts: 548 ✭✭✭MaddChris

Another possible Welsh high tackle not given a second look.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

    What a tackle!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,173 ✭✭✭✭Sangre

How can an Irish fan give out about an outhalf/captain shouting at their teammates with a straight face.

Rhys Zammit second season syndrome. Still good but not like his first one.

Haha, arm out in an attempt to wrap?? He just threw his body at the Fijian's lower legs with no attempt to use his arms at all. If that was against NZ you'd absolutely be calling for a penalty try and a yellow.
