Supplying power to a Shed.

I am thinking of connecting a shed to the house. I thought I could only connect to the fuse box inside but someone told me that the ESB can install a fuse in the Meter box that would be separate to the power coming in to the house. This would suit me as I would not have to do as much cutting walls etc. Just wondering did anyone come across this and how much it would cost.

Thanks for the quick reply. Ahh well hate doing demo as little as it is. Saves me asking the the RECI a silly question

Really everything including car charging should be wired from a main board in house

I don't mean to be pedantic and I 'm sure you know this but a lot of people don't:

Safe Electric is a regulatory scheme set up to ensure all RECs (Registered Electrical Contractors) are adhering to national standards when it comes to electrical work. The scheme is no longer operated by RECI, since January 2023 it is operated by SGS Ireland.
