Slurry tanker hydraulic valve with spring issue

Have an old style abbey slurry tanker with splash plate, 16yrs old. No contract work so it's not been busy. The splash plate has one hydraulic pipe and a spring. Recently the door would not open. After a bit of work got it opening but the valve is only opening about a third of way. Could the valve be out of shape and that's why it's getting stuck when closing and not opening fully. Thanks in advance

It's probably clogged up with dirt. Open the ring of six hex screws (allen key) and lift off the top half of the valve. The casing that the gate opens up into is probably packed tight with dried dirt. Poke it out with an old screwdriver or something.....

So I removed hydraulic pipe and opened the 6 hex head screws. Removed valve cover head, no dirt in the head area. Removed spring. Removed rod. There was some water in this area, so I emptied out all moisture and changed o-ring on rod. Put back together and hey presto opening fully and closing ok. Will be using again properly in a few days and will know better but all looks good. So thanks posters for your help, cheque is in the post.

Sometimes the rod screws out of the lollipop causing the valve to half open
