Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is there a thread on boards for Scottish football or isn’t there any interest except for the old firm clubs. Quite like the look of Hibernian having watched their European games on BBC Scotland in the last couple of weeks!

I actually enjoyed watching the European games on BBC Scotland over the last week or so. Rangers pulled off a good performance in the second half to get through and Hibs were great, they just let themselves down in the league.

St Mirren going strong too and I hope our own Jim Goodwin gets Dundee United back up!

As Hibs fan it's been shocking start to season. The defending for second goal at weekend was comical.

Would be a Queen of the South fan myself but you wouldn't have much outside of the old firm apart from a few expats. There used to be a Hibs forum knocking around for a while.

Likewise the weekend before, shambles. No idea how they won last weeks European game but we'll see what happens in Switzerland on Thursday.

Good to see a bit of interest on here anyways.

Its a shame as they have a fantastic support and a great stadium, pity they cant carry their european form into the league!

    Well done Hibs and Hearts!

2 big results for the Edinburgh sides

McGinn back at Easter Road, who would have expected that!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 943 ✭✭✭waywill1966

Yes, that will be a cracker, he’s a hero there as part of the 2016 cup winning side!

VIlla next. Jesus it's going be a tough two legs. Will be interesting to see where a top half premiership side gets on versus a mid table Scottish team.

Only hope is that Villa looked terrible v Newcastle last weekend.

But you'd still expect them to be too strong.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,841 ✭✭✭crushproof

Full house in Easter Road this evening so fingers crossed that'll give the team boost. Seriously need it because it's going to be a seriously tough game.

Unfortunately so, surprised at mcGinns reception from the home fans!

    What a strike from Tavernier!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 943 ✭✭✭waywill1966

Lee Johnson sacked at Hibernian, was inevitable really!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 943 ✭✭✭waywill1966

If he sorted out the defence, they weren’t a bad team!

God, it's been a terrible week for Scottish clubs in Europe. Hibs & Hearts thrashed in their respective ties in the ECL and out of Europe entirely. Rangers and Aberdeen beaten and relegated to the EL & ECL respectively. Celtic's wobbly start domestically doesn't bode well for their upcoming CL campaign.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 943 ✭✭✭waywill1966

Hibs earlier European games were good until they met quality opposition which exposed their defence and cost Johnson his job!

Nice comeback from St Mirren to end up topping the table, continuing their good early season form. Kilmarnock lose again after their good early results against the Old Firm!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 943 ✭✭✭waywill1966

Rangers hard done by in that game, Roofes goal should have been allowed . Both teams poor though, haven’t got into gear yet with so many new players to blend in!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 943 ✭✭✭waywill1966

Come on the Hibbies, 2-0 up v Aberdeen!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,424 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

Badly needed. Still very poor start to season .

    Need to buck up

Oh I am biased, however I don’t pretend not to be.

At least now you’ve admitted your bias. Stand by what you like. In time we will see improvement with Celtic under Brendan Rodgers and that CL group with Athletico Madrid, Lazio and Feyenoord will be the test of your biased “opinion” that Celtic are a “poor team”. My prediction is that you’ll be found out.

A Hibs fan that can’t stand Celtic and prefers rangers to Celtic. LOL.

Beale under pressure, but would the pressure be on Rodgers if he lost yesterday?

Delighted to see Beale struggle. It gladdens the heart.

Celtic fan? A week ago it was Rodgers who was under pressure after bad results against Killie and St Johnstone, the week before it was Lee Johnson at Hibs. It’s Beales turn this week I suppose!

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,605 ✭✭✭TheCitizen

His position has been retained, got the old vote of confidence. The longer they keep Mick Beale the better.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,580 ✭✭✭ArielAtom

I’m just happy to see him capitulate. The man’s word is worthless.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 943 ✭✭✭waywill1966

They won’t sack him this early after all the investment this summer. If the bad form continues then he could go in November like GVB!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 943 ✭✭✭waywill1966

Looks like Scotland are through to the Euros!

Is there any word that Jason Cummings would come in as well as a coach? Played at Central coast for him and is of course a Hibs legend

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 943 ✭✭✭waywill1966

Think he is under contract in India and wouldn’t be sure Hibs would pay compo to his club there, you never know though!

Just watched the Scotland fans destroy the England anthem before their friendly tonight. Might be a bit of a silly question, but do Scottish Rangers fans (who would be quite fond of GSTK) follow the Scotland national team? Is it similar to how nationalist's in Northern Ireland wouldn't follow the N.I. team?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 943 ✭✭✭waywill1966

Rangers and their supporters are deemed to have a unionist stance so therefore will support the King while Scotland fans are deemed to have an independence stance! Just listen to the lyrics of Flower of Scotland , says it all! Best national anthem ever in my opinion!

    Maguire lol

How on earth were both teams wearing navy and white, no wonder Robertson passed to Bellingham in the box for him to score.

If you look out of corner of your eye they all look the same,

I know, nothing to stop a clash of colours. I just find it ridiculous that a country ,England , whose flag is red and white wear white and blue . I know Japan wear blue , but the one time England wore red they won the World Cup

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 943 ✭✭✭waywill1966

Good result for Rangers in Europe tonight!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 943 ✭✭✭waywill1966

Lovely touch from Rodgers at the end of the game v Livingston, helping that wee fan!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 943 ✭✭✭waywill1966

Hibs going well since a change of management, 4-2 win over St Mirren tonight in the Viaplay cup quarter final.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 943 ✭✭✭waywill1966

Tough on Motherwell there but tiredness and a lack of concentration caught up with them!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,042 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

    Another poor result for Rangers.

    Beale under serious pressure?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 943 ✭✭✭waywill1966

Beale deserves the heave ho after that! Horrible Pulis Stoke era football and got rid of better players than he signed!
