DLR co co has notices in the papers about a proposed evening and nighttime (19:30-05:00) closure of the N11 between Kill Lane (Foxrock Church) and the Cherrywood interchange. Dates are from Mon. Sept 18th to Thu. November 30th and both inbound and outbound lanes will be affected.

The reason given for the closure is pretty vague, they're saying it is 'to allow for realignment of the traffic lanes'.

Realignment rather than resurfacing makes me suspicious - does anyone know what they're going to do to the N11? Will we still have a bus lane and two car lanes?

Jesus wept, its about 10 minutes since the Cabinteely junction had a fortune spent on it for no real gain.

Would they not just resurface the bits that need resurfacing and piss off.

Perhaps it should read resurfacing, they did that from Stillorgan to just past Foxrock church recently, maybe they want to finish the job. They left one lane open while doing so and it seemed to take forever, there seems to be a quicker timeline on these works.

DLR have provided some clarity - Lanes 1 & 2 are to be widened.

Deansgrange Cycle Route Scheme is also starting. Circet have been appointed as the contractor for this scheme. They have mobilised onsite and commencing site investigation works. They will be installing a one way system on Deansgrange Road between St Fintans Villas and Kill Lane on Monday the 18th September to facilitate the works. This will be in place for 6 months. The section between St Fintans Villas and the Rowanbyrn junction will be done as a subsequent traffic management phase.

    It's going to be chaos!

A one-way system as in permanently one direction, or a stop-go system?

(the Deansgrange Cycle Route Scheme might deserve it's own thread as it's off topic to the original post)

Dlrcoco traffic news https://www.dlrcoco.ie/traffic-management/traffic-news has the info below about Deansgrange Road:

    "...

Some localised Stop/Go traffic management will be in operation between the hours of 10am and 4pm from September 11th to September 15th.

From Monday, September 18th, there will be no northbound access to Deansgrange Road from Clonkeen Road / Kill Lane for approximately six months. Southbound access will remain open via a new temporary one-way system south of St. Fintan’s Villas.

Diversion signs will be in place.

The 84 and 84A northbound bus services will be diverted via Abbey Road for the duration of the works. The southbound bus route remains the same. "

Assuming that's "from the cemetery, to the supervalu" in direction right? so no straight on from Clonkeen road / turn from Kill Lane?

edit: just saw your post up above, thank for that.
