Tax question regarding a move to Ireland, move of contents

Just wondering, if I was considering removing the contents in a property within the EU and Euro-Zone to the Republic of Ireland, would this be subject to any form of tax? Probably not, but it certainly doesn't hurt asking....

The move would be due to professional reasons, an employment contract would exist.

The contents of the property to be moved to Ireland would be for personal use only, having been in my ownership for more than 20 years.

All the contents as well as the electrical goods are actually originally from Ireland, three pronged sockets included.

    Anybody any practical experiences?

Nah, you're good. Moving your own property — personal effects and household goods — within the EU does not attract customs duties.

Might be different if you were importing something exciseable, like the contents of your wine cellar or (obviously) a car. But if there was anything like that you'd have said so.

    Thanks for that one.

It only concerns clothes and furniture and electrical household goods, which was actually bought in Ireland 20 years ago.

No bottles of wine or anything like that.
