Anyone catch this on the Beeb last night. ? It's so amusing I had to start a thread. The premis is that five apprentice estate agents hussle to sell property around London and two are sent to the New York office on a trial basis. The boys are all Gym fit and the girls are of course glamorous. They don't get a salary and are hoping for a big commission when they sell the multi million properties. Georgie ( who flicks her hair back every ten seconds ) is rebuked when she raises the vulgar question of her commission . The two boys - Khris and Ally with a Y turn up to their first NY meeting dressed in stuffed suits. The boss hauls them up in front of the US office and it's all downhill from there. The cockney banter suddenly dries up and they die a death on the podium.

They are then sent to assess a 35 million apartment overlooking Central Park. Two female agents quiz them on the apartment and they are clueless. It doesn't help the Ally has been out in a strip club in Queens until 4 am. the Yanks are visibly shocked. I won't divulge the ending but the agency actually seems to value their contribution and offers one a position in NY.

It's a fascinating metaphor on the property scene in the UK and NY where these clueless agents expect a years salary to fall into their lap with little more than spoofing and looking like stuffed shirts. If it's a true depiction it's too surreal to be true ! Any thoughts ?
