Tax on dividends from Swiss company shares

Just wondering how to declare these dividends on Revenue My Account. The way dividends are taxed seems complex with credits, withheld tax etc. How much detail is required with the actual figure? Is the country of origin enough? Should the company name be included also? Is it the net or gross value that is declared? Not major money but want to get it right so any info would be appreciated.

Assuming you are declaring them in your annual tax return on your Revenue Myaccount, they are declared gross.

The section is foreign income under the heading "Foreign non-Deposit Interest/Annuities/Royalties/Dividends"

Ok. Does that mean the gross is taxed twice, in the origin country and in Ireland?

Gross and non refundable tax deducted. Ie tax you can't get a refund of from the origin country thereby giving you a credit for tax deducted.

Thank you. I see 25% encashment tax has already been taken from the Irish gross value. Should that be entered in he return somewhere?

Yes. There's a section for Irish tax deducted on foreign dividends somewhere in the credits section.
