Hi folks. we’ve had perennial spinach in our polytunnel but recently it’s been suffering from some pest. google has steered me towards “thrips” which I’ve never in my life heard off. im finding lots of small black poo in the leaves, see photo. Any advice appreciated

Looks like larvae of a beetle.

The black things are snail (or slug) poo.

Ahh yes. I googled that and it’s that ok.
we’re inundated round home, have just started moving stuff up off the ground out of their reach rather than try beat them.
