I recently moved into a new house with an old Eircom / Phonewatch alarm. I’ve the code to arm/disarm it. Can I just remove it or will it cause an alarm when I open the box/disconnect it from the mains.

There is mains in that panel from the fused spur.

You can remove the system and just use the user code to silence the alarm when it activates.

Battery is located behind the main PCB.

    Thanks Altor.

is it the upper box where the battery is in? Basically, step 1: remove the fuse, step 2: remove battery from the upper one. And then it should be dead?

Can I remove the sensors around the house when it is disarmed or is this causing the box to continuously beep?

The top one is a the GSM, this will also have mains and a battery.

The other battery is located in behind the keypad on bottom control panel.

Screw top and bottom to the right as you look at the panel will take off the front lid, then in the middle top there is a release to get at the battery to remove it from the main control panel.

I’m at this stage, but not sure where the battery is located from here? Do I need to remove the keypad too? Is it the black cube with VDS written in it?

Do I just disconnect the cable from the battery?

updated: disconnected it, now outside alarm is ringing. Will it just die down after a while?

Yes, the external bell should have a timer that will cut out.

Yes. The outside sounder usually has a backup battery so it goes off if its cable is cut. Hopefully stopped by now...

    Scrap the cap!
