Currently working in Civil Service as HEO ICT. Have got a job offer for HSE Grade VI IT.

Can someone advice me whether it is worth accepting the HSE offer? Doesnt have much difference in salary. Current role offers Hybrid working, Flexi leave etc. Dont know whether HSE has any policies like this.

    Any suggestion?

Sorry, if you got a job offer, did you not ask these questions at the interview?

The HSE is a big org with different policies for different groups. I don't think people here could definitely answer.

I was not able to ask these questions during interview stage. In the Job Description document it mentions that Annual Leave, Starting Salary etc could be discussed with HSE HR at job offer stage. So I have asked these queries to HSE HR now.

But I was just hoping that somebody working in HSE IT area could let me know the work environment etc

Not relevant @TestLink but if you had any memories of the level of detail in questions for a grade IV interview. I am from outside the civil service and people keep warning me that these competency based interviews are not always, sometimes not at all, even related to the job you are applying for. Was this your experience?

Yes, I was not asked any technical questions, but all questions revolved around the HSE competency framework.

There was a recruitment ban at HSE till last week, so the position is still vacant!

Out of curiosity what's your reason to move for basically the same job?

I wont be moving to HSE as the salary is around 5000 euro lower than the Civil Service equivalent. Also options for lateral movement to other IT areas in the same department or other departments is more in Civil Service. I attented the HSE interview as at that time I was waiting for my reference check process to complete for my Civil Service role.
