Is there such a thing as a hair gel which doesn't "set" or go hard?

    Trying to get that "wet look", been through so many products.

    Oils like olive oil have probably given the best results, but constant use may clog up hair follicles.

    I used to use hair gel when I was younger but it always basically goes completely hard.

    Is there such a thing as a gel that gives that cool wet appearance, WITHOUT solidifying?

    ......

    PS - getting that "wet look", do some people (I notice with some girls mostly, more than gents), simply use leave in conditioner?

    Will that get that nice wet appearance?
