Here we go, the first horrific take of the day from the pro-Hamas people on here.

To create some sort of equivalence between Ismail Haniyeh and Zelensky is completely wrong. Zelensky is the victim of Russian aggression. At no point has Zelensky had his forces rape and murder innocent civilians. In a war against a country with vastly superior resources, Zelensky and Ukraine have shown remarkable restraint in their conduct.

Ismail Haniyeh is the complete opposite of Zelensky. He launched a war of aggression against Israel, kidnapped innocent civilians, uses civilians as human shields, raped and murdered many others, routinely launches rocket attacks into civilian areas, the list goes on. This guy is a real POS for the suffering that he made a conscious decision to inflict on on both Israel and Gaza.

I see the Russians, Iranians, and Qatari's are the ones squealing loudest today at the death of Haniyeh. That tells you all you need to about the man.

Who said Zelensky. That is not in the post you are quoting, so no need to be getting excited and frothing at the mouth that someone might be making a valid point about your beloved Zionists. Could well be a Ukrainian resistance leader from the Donbas. A "Nazi" (according to Russia) leader of the Azov brigade. A negotiator.

We can go back 30 years to our own island and envision a world where the Brits were laying waste to the North and the political leaders sought refuge in, say, Germany. And then the Brits decided to wipe out Gerry Adams with a missile aimed at his accommodation in Berlin while negotiations to try to stop all the killing and carnage were ongoing

If you want to have a situation where you cheer on one country killing negotiators in another country, while negotiations are taking place to try to end a conflict, then that is on you and you are merely cheering on warmongers and oppressors. And showing your true colours.

You can dress it up how you like. The action is merely about prolonging oppression, subjugation, and the dream of their ultimate goal of total ethnic cleansing.

"Resistance leader" lol. He's a terrorist who sends his own people to die while he lives/lived a life of luxury. Might as well mourn bin laden while youre at it. Disgusting

You're getting very pissed off at a hypothetical story about a hypothetical leader of the Azov brigade. Again proving the analogies between Russians and Zionists. One and the same.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,345 ✭✭✭ceadaoin.

I'm not "very pissed off" at all, not sure what indicated that, its just a message board on the internet , but ok, you do you 👍

I'm happy for the people I know personally (and if you know many or even any Jewish people it's impossible not to know someone who was affected, it was that bad) whose family members were killed and/or tortured by hamas that the person who was ultimately responsible has been killed.

I dont think a single person here will be shedding any tears over this guy. The only thing, along with the Beirut attacks is illustrate that Israel is indeed capable of extreme accuracy when it chooses and the that indiscriminate bombings in Gaza is just that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,107 ✭✭✭✭Donald Trump

It's not about the individual person that was killed. It's about his role and position and the fact that you set a precedent that it is ok to assassinate someone in that role, or even because of it. In addition, it was an attack that was done on another country's territory. So you have that aspect too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,755 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

Well the equivalent would be if a high up Ukrainian was taken out by a Russian missile while in Germany

    Your words, not mine.

You are deliberately trying to create an equivalence between the Ukrainian political leadership and Hamas.

    It's wrong.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,107 ✭✭✭✭Donald Trump

Zelensky might indeed be the only "high up Ukrainian" you know, but that doesn't mean that he is the only person, or type of person, to whom the description could apply. You are merely highlighting your own ignorance here by bringing it up again.

You don't have the right to decide who can represent the Palestinians in whatever role any more than Putin has the right to decide who can represent Ukrainians in whatever role.

Killing the representatives is not even about the individual, it is about subjugation.

    Excellent work by Israel.

Yet another embarrassing episode for supposed regional power Iran.

Lol, says the person who was making jokes about and minimising the apparent attempted asassination of trump on the very first page of that thread, who is an actual former president of the US and its probably wrong to try to kill him. Stop being a hypocrite.

Pull the other one. This fella is a terrorist leader, just like bin laden. There is a precendent already set for killing someone "in that role".

To be clear. I don't think politicians should be assassinated, whoever they are. Terrorists though? Have at it. What's the problem with that exactly?

So the egregious thing is trying to rise the Israeli's, not what Israel is doing? Right…….

There's actually no hoop jumping required tbh cause in your very next post you say…

Which is exactly what I've said, giving OP a free pass on what they want to do. A Holocaust has been committed against you, here's your pass for one free genocide. The world will not only turn a blind eye, we'll ply you with weapons to "finish the job".

You're right, history didn't start in 196(7) nor 1948. Nor with the white paper of 1939, nor the Balfour Declaration of 1917. Perhaps you could say the persecution of the Palestinians has its origins with the drawing of the Sykes-Picot agreement in 1916. Before that there was little animosity between Palestinian Arabs and Jews under Ottoman rule. So tell me why are the Palestinians paying the price for generations of western antisemitism?

Oh and its pretty dangerous to confuse Judaism with Zionism, which is why many Jews around the world are distancing themselves from OP. Cause you know to conflate the two is exactly the type of thing which enforces antisemitism. Not great…. if you did it consciously.

I know a lot of jews, do you? They are all zionists because they believe that Israel should exist. Literally that's what a "zionist" is. What's wrong with that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,107 ✭✭✭✭Donald Trump

That's fine. You can equally support Russia's right to assassinate any Ukrainian (or other nationality) seeking refuge within the EU once they claim that the target was a "terrorist leader". You may take my earlier example of a commander of a "Nazi" Azov brigade as an example.

You see, your issue really is that you have "picked a team". And all objectivity (and principles and morals) has gone out the window. It matters not what Israel does, as long as they do it to the "other team". Destroying any sort of infrastructure or capital, whether physical or human, is fine with you. Because it achieves its purpose and subjugates the "other team". Members of the IDF being exposed for gang-raping a Palestinian man probably doesn't even register for you. You can other the victim as a "terrorist" and award medals to the perpetrators. And then dismiss any hatred the man or his family has for said IDF as being rooted in antisemitism. Rinse and repeat.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,107 ✭✭✭✭Donald Trump

It's an absolutely bizarre comparison to make. It's apparently ok for the Israeli state to assassinate a Palestinian official on Iranian territory via a missile because someone yank tried to have a potshot at the bigliest ex President in history.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,930 ✭✭✭✭nacho libre

Well it proves once again sean w's claim that Iran is an existential threat to Iran as nonsense.

This incident is another reminder that Iran is no match for Israel militarily and in terms of intelligence. Iran are incapable of a like for like response.

Bibi assured Qatar in the early stages of the war that Hamas leaders would not be touched in Qatar. Haniyeh got cocky he should have realised after the targeting of Dief that negotiations for a ceasefire would not guarantee his safety. Also that Mossad have the Iranian leadership compromised at a high level- we have seen this over the years. While Iranian intelligence is not able to do the same thing in kind.

This attack like other previous attacks simply would not have been able to occur otherwise . The remaining Hamas leadership will be staying put in Qatar now

While on the surface this could complicate efforts to reach a ceasefire, it may long term increase the pressure on Hamas. They have now lost their political leader and their military leader may well already be dead too. No one in their right mind will mourn Ismail's passing. In the same way no one should mourn any war criminal being taken out. The world is a better place without them.

No, the idf soldiers who rape people are scum. That's awful. Rape as a weapon of war is wrong. Hamas are also scum who used rape as a weapon of war. I know it's a vicious cycle, I don't know what the solution is. The fact is though that haniyeh is a terrorist by all definitions of the word. The whole world recognises him as such. It is anti semitism when he says he wants to wipe the jews off the earth. He isn't a freedom fighter. And I'm glad that the people I know personally might have some closure now, after their relatives were murdered, tortured and raped by hamas.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,107 ✭✭✭✭Donald Trump

You need to realise that that is your reality and your definition.

The Zionists have all the control. They are merely mowing the lawn s they like to call it. They oppress and subjugate the Palestinians. Anyone who stands up to them will, by their definition, be just an antisemite attacking them, and therefore a terrorist. So create an environment where nothing can be solved and the Palestinians remain living in sh1t.

The Brits could have equally done the same up the North whenever a nascent political infrastructure began to emerge from the Nationalist community. Just go in, cut the head off, and wait for another to emerge. If there was any blowback from Republicans, it would obviously prove their point that they were dealing with terrorists and justified.

Im confused. People were asking why Israel didn't target Hamas leaders who are outside of Gaza and actually running Hamas. If Israel wanted to end Hamas, that's the way.

Now we have Israel taking out a Hamas leader in Iran and the same people are now complaining?

And the comparisons to Russia taking out a Ukranian in Russia etc... is ridiculous, would a more suitable comparison not be the US taking out Bin Laden in Pakistan?

    What am I missing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,107 ✭✭✭✭Donald Trump

I reckon that if you think anyone was calling for extra-territorial assassinations by Israel, that would only have been from Zionists.

What country did Bin Laden serve as Prime Minister for? What political bureau did he head up, and when did he act as an official negotiator? Could you provide a map showing the people and region he represented? Thanks.

Would the general population of Palestine not be happy with the fact that this guy was killed. I would assume they are not big fans of Hamas for what happened in October.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,345 ✭✭✭ceadaoin.

Yeah the terrorist haniyeh was doing all that from Dubai and then Iran? Sure haven't we been told over and over in this thread by yourself and others that the gazans didn't vote for hamas and they don't represent them, but now he's the "prime minister" and "offical negotiator"? Make it make sense

You are back to not being able to read and comprehend posts. Either that or deliberately trying to create strawmen to troll. Take a few minutes to read what you are replying to in future.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,168 ✭✭✭✭Dohnjoe

Generally avoiding this cesspit, but this is a good point

People shouldn't let their valid criticism of Israel's actions spill over into support for a terrorist leader like Haniyeh. A man worth 4 billion who spent the last 7 years cowering in Qatar while Palestinians suffered.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 983 ✭✭✭thatsdaft

And the Olympic medal for mental gymnastics goes to … erm Donal Trump of course

    Daft, just daft stuff

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 983 ✭✭✭thatsdaft

    Terrorist, he was a terrorist

By calling him a “Palestinian official” you are actually doing disservice to the Palestinian struggle

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,107 ✭✭✭✭Donald Trump

Look, it's completely fine if you can't understand principles and consequences beyond "bad man dead - that good".

Did you support the Israeli use of cloned Irish passports to commit extra-territorial assassinations in the past?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,107 ✭✭✭✭Donald Trump

Well he was definitely a Hamas official, and was indeed a Palestinian. Although you might indeed be one of those who claim there is no such thing as a "Palestinian"

Ya know, the lads currently negotiating for ceasefires and return of hostages. The hostages that the zionists pretend to give a sh1te about.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,345 ✭✭✭ceadaoin.

What do you mean, why wait so long? Remember he was in hiding Dubai or somewhere else in the uae? Obviously they aren't going to go after him there. Why do people on here have such short memories? He left and they got him. Again...what's the issue here.

Remember the last time israel did the same sort of surgical attack and were still given **** for it? I do. Same old story.
