Painting a new build

    Hi,

We're currently building our new house and progressing well. Should be ready for internal painting soon which I will be doing myself with some help from family. Is it worth hiring a sprayer for the painting? Cost for 5 days is about €380. Or should I just stick to rollers? The house is 217 square meters with 4 bedrooms, kitchen, sitting room, living room and an office. We will be just doing all white for walls and ceilings to get us in. We also have to paint doors and skirting (in white as well) but that's a different task.

Any other general tips for the painting job would be appreciated.

Good prep is the key, not just now but for the future so you need to research the proper prepping for whatever surface you have.

The old story of dilute the distemper by 50% or more for the first coat doesn't really work longterm

Wet rooms will require a different approach
