A rare burst of activity from Premier Sport Ireland’s X/Twitter account. They had in game clips of the goals from the Malmo Rangers EL game.

Noticed on Now TV that there was a push to have the Premier Sports game as the main options, and trying not to show the TNT game e.g making sure Man Utd coverage was going to PS. Had to navigate a bit further to get TNT's version.

Now TV have added a lot of extra and unnecessary details on their homepages/sub-sections anyway - Live & Upcoming, Premier league Highlights, Competitions are all before getting to the table of the live channels. Anyway, probably off topic there.

Premier Sports Ireland taking the exact same games as Amazon so far, including Arsenal v Shakhtar Donetsk on the 22nd October.

They've also shown the same game as RTE on Wednesday nights.

All presumptions, but do Premier Sports Ireland only have the option to take the same game as Amazon? Or does it just make sense, seeing that TNT will have the other matches live? And are they just selecting the Wed night RTE game as they see that as a bigger game, or is that the only game they can show - and not any of the VM games.

I think you need to see Wednesday nights from the opposite perspective - it clearly isnt a case of Premier selecting the same game as RTE, but RTE having to show the same game as Premier. RTE are not listed on Uefa’s website as a rights holder and Premier are, and I’m convinced it’s a case of RTE sub licensing games from Premier because Premier would have needed a free to air outlet for the final. Look, I’ve nothing concrete to prove that, but I am convinced that’s the situation.

However I don’t see that Premier and Amazon would be required to show the same games on Tuesday- I think it’s probably just been a case of a clear “top pick” game that both have gone for.

One thing that continues to puzzle me is the absence of Amazon from the list of UK rights holders despite having won 17 first pick rights for Tuesday night. UEFA documents only mention "British Telecommunications PLC", ie TNT, and the BBC as CL rights holders.

Is there an up to date version of that document. I can’t find the link on the UEFA website any more, and Google takes me to a version from last March.
