Bicycle Insurance

Recently spent alot of money on a road bike. Are Bikmo the only show in town when it comes to bike insurance? They quoted me €402 for the year. That's not far off my car insurance for a car worth 30K... Doesn't make sense.

Interested to know who people are insured with?

Got mine in under my house insurance - covered for all risks.

my bikes aren't covered outside the house, i never saw the need as i'd never leave the good ones anywhere insecure anyway.

Just be mindful that a claim on the house insurance may mean a loss of no claims, and then the sums can close up a bit in the event of claim.

I am with Zurich Insurance, only ones that would give me the covered I needed.

Mine covers all risks to the bike - crash, damage or stolen - Its under the house insurance as a named item.

I had a bike on all risks with FBD, I crashed in a race and broke the frame, they covered it, no issues regarding the fact that it happened in a race and I did tell them.
