To those who are still only watching legacy media outlets. You may not be aware of the surge in Excess deaths in this country over the last 18 months or so....we are probably looking at over 10,000 excess deaths in this country over the last 18 months or so.

From what i can gather, we are fluctuating between 15% -20% excess deaths, well above the rates for 20/21 and the entire political class (with some independent exceptions) and media class don't seem to have any interest in discussing, investigating or even commenting on...we are not the only country experiencing this tragic developing issue, it was discussed in Westminister and Dail Eireann in the last week, to empty parliaments, but a lot of countries are experiencing different elevated rates of excess deaths.

As it is very difficult to trust any entity these days, I'd appreciate if anyone could shed some light on this,

If it is true, it is worth pointing out that a surge of anything over 10% in a nation's death rate would be an extremely rare phenomenon. We seem to be well above that, and all we get is tumbleweed from our establishment.

“Legacy media” you can already tell this is utter balderdash.

This is the desperate final grasp towards credibility by the dying anti-vax movement, inventing stories about excess deaths. There were no excess deaths. Here are the statistics:

2019: 31,184 deaths in Ireland.

2020: 32,856 deaths (1.05% increase from previous year)

2021: 33,055 deaths (1.006% increase from previous year)

2022: 35,477 deaths (1.07% increase from previous year).

1% increase every year makes perfect sense in a growing, aging population.

Actually, it was discussed in our own Dail last week, a number of TDs have been raising the issue. I know anecdotally it has been very high since about April 2022, but that is simply anecdotal. Are they wrong?

Its because of my orbital space laser. I'm threatening the British and Irish governments and giving them a small taste of what it can do by targeting a tiny portion of the population. They are trying to keep it under wraps to avoid panic.

But we should be seeing a dip in excess deaths after the pandemic, would we not, given that the population rise is driven by young people and therefore won't really affect the death rate for some time and the pandemic affected the elderly in a disproportionate manner.

The language and tone here tells me this is just more anti vax type hogwash. And if you had listened to or read what you refer to as legacy media you'd know excess deaths were covered, by many outlets, as far back as the Irish Times full page article of 11th February 2023. The explanation however won't fit your narrative. And the rate isn't as high as you maintain either.

As I mentioned, I have no trust in any entity. I also know that most posters on here disregard most media outlets...I am basing my claim on what was discussed in Dail Eireann last week (like I said, I do know anecdotally that there has been a surge certainly in my region over the last 18 months), my understanding that unlike the previous few years, the surge this time is across all demographics.
