@pygmaliondreams @PmMeUrDogs thank you for that, do you think I should I tell my manager about the interview or just leave it and wait until I hopefully pass the interview? Sorry for so many questions just feeling a bit lost 😅

Go off whether they're sound or not I suppose, mine gave me some room during the day to go to my interview so I didn't need to waste leave but that's probably not standard.

If they seem kind of rude you can wait until after but you will need them to fill out a reference if you do pass the interview stage even if you're only there a short while

they might be able to give you help and direction if you tell them. I’ve always found CS v supportive and encouraging to people to advance

No idea if it's standard or not but people I know working in CS were all given paid time off to attend CS interviews. Dunno if that's a sound line manager or an entitlement though!

Definitely an entitlement, it’s an option when updating clocks. You just need to provide proof of interview.

Hey I'm looking for some feedback please. I've passed the interview but I'm unsure whether or not to take the job. I love my department and don't really want to move. I'm looking for feedback on location, role etc. Anybody have any feedback please?

    Hi all,

Not directly related to this competition but I don’t want to begin a new topic just for one question. I was wondering if anyone has any information on working in the International Protection Office?

I applied for an EO role recently as I wanted a change after from my current department after a decade there but am second guessing it now and am just looking for a bit of reassurance.

    Thanks

First of all, congratulations to everybody successful in this competition, good luck to those in the interview process and the ones that did not make it in this competition, do not give up!

For those who have already started from this competition, how long did it take to hear back from Staffline? I handed my documents/references to Staffline over 2 weeks ago, but have not heard anything from them yet.

Don't want to be chasing them, but also don't want to feel I have been forgotten.

    Thanks in advance!

    My situation would mirror yours.

I've yet to speak with my referees but apparently after they've been contacted and replied with a reference, DCEDIY HR will be in touch thereafter with Garda Vetting and other docs to be completed.

Thanks for that! The thing is that I didn't even get an acknowledgement from Staffline and my referees haven't heard from them yet.

So now I wonder if I should send them an email to confirm they received my info. I know they are doing interviews until today, so maybe it should be the right time to send them another email.

    Thanks again!

It could well be that they're waiting for all interviews to be done and dusted, so that new EO's then do their induction etc en masse.

I've sent you a PM on it there now.

I'm in the same situation. I sent everything off 3 weeks ago and have not heard anything back. My references haven't heard anything either. I'm wondering when I'll possibly be starting.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7 jezzabee

I'd say it is what Lemon Davis III said up there. They were doing interviews this whole week, so they might reach out to everybody all together, and I'd assume everyone will have the same starting date too. Hopefully we will hear from them in the next couple of weeks.

Hi all, How long after passing the interview were you waiting to hear from Staffline about pre employment checks?

  • Registered Users Posts: 20 helpagirlout22

3 days but everything since has taken much longer

  • Registered Users Posts: 7 jezzabee

I got the interview on the 9th of April and got the results asking for documentation and references on the 14th of April.

I believe they contacted my referees after the May bank holiday (around 3 weeks after I provided the references) but both my referees were away and only sent my references yesterday.

Thank you, I got word back I passed the interview on the 9th of May and nothing since. I have an interview with PAS in the coming weeks and unsure whether to do it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7 jezzabee

    @missym3 I sent you a PM there.

I also got word that I passed the interview on the 9th of May however my interview with PAS was on the 13th of May. Got results that I also passed the interview for the Open competition and they’ve contacted me to start eligibility check. Seems process with PAS is going quicker and is starting to make me nervous.
I am hoping staffline will be in touch this week

I passed my interview over a month ago, still waiting for start date. Dcediy only contacted me last week, seems to be taking longer than I was led to believe.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7 jezzabee

I think you can be honest with PAS and state you also passed in the Staffline competition as you want to go to the DCEDIY (if that is what you want). There's nothing to lose really, and you may have options from there.

You have passed and the job is yours to take with either or :D

    @helpagirlout22

It seems Staffline has only one person do do all jobs (contact candidates, check references, contact DCEDIY…). I'd check with your referees to see if they received any emails and if it was returned. My referees found Staffline email in their spam box and it could have been missed if I haven't asked them about it.

Both references have been contacted and responded already so just waiting to hear back about start date etc. I thought it would have run a bit quicker than it has. I just hope I hear from them soon.
