Reseed, post emergence spray

I done some reseeding the first week of September, it should of been done the middle of August but the weather went against me, it was ploughed sowed and rolled and it got 10 10 20 and lime, the grass is flying and only for its so wet I would of grazed it

Because the ground is so wet I couldn’t get out to spray it with the post emergence spray, I will have to try and do it in the spring, there is a nice bit of clover in the grass seed mix

will this effect the reseed buy not getting out with the spray till the spring and also by not grazing it?it’s an exspensive job so you wouldn’t like to any problems arising

Try to graze it with sheep asap and they will most likely sort out the weeds for ya.

I’m in the same boat here - unfortunately I’d need ducks to graze mine it’s that wet.

I had a similar problem last end, no post emergence or grazing due to weather. I got the cattle to graze it bare weeds and all in April and then sprayed it with D50. Made a job of it, clover even survived as cattle had grazed it so tight before spraying. It will be grand.

There’s currently no weeds in this but chickweed is appearing in places, it’s not far off been ready to graze, just it’s so wet, is there a chance my clover could get damaged?

Grass is flying it. It’s just so wet you couldn’t let even sheep out in it.

I didn't get my reseed grazed yet either or sprayed with post emergence clover max.

Would I be ok to graze it tight in the spring and put out the clover max then?

Some photos of my reseed. It badly needs to be sprayed for chickweed will this effect the performance during the spring?

It needs to grow more before you spray. The post emergence could kill that young grass.

Reggie is correct you need a nicer cover of grass before spraying

If its grazing ground thr chickweed will be grazed out of it if you graze it tightly otherwise spray it.

Post emergence spray couldn't be got around here this year

Yes it was the same down it was very difficult to get the spray,

The idea of post emergence spray is to hit any weeds at seedling stage its more effective.

If you fail to get post e spray out just target the weeds at a later time, pastor trio I think for chickweed

I'd let it on. Get a first grazing off it and then spray it. Thats what we do here with all the reseeds. Give it a few days to recover after the grazing

Just looking for some advice on the field i ploughed last year, I never got to spray it as it was too wet, but there is chickweed in it now in places but no weeds,very good grass on it and I’m going to have to graze it immediately as it’s going to get too strong

Will this affect it by not spraying it? I say I will have to cut some of it because it will be too strong before I get to the last section, would this cause any issues by cutting it before grazing it?

If it's a grazing feed the chickweed will be overtaken by grass, graze it tight & the grass will out compete it.

Silage ground would need a spray

it was meant to be for grazing but I’m afraid one section will get too strong, there is serious grass on it and I have never seen it so dry, I really think the plough helped break the pan underneath, maybe I’m wrong

I'm in the same boat, reseed since October and got nothing.

Gone too strong to graze so just put out a good shot of 29-0-14+S and will cut for silage when it's ready.

A good dose of slurry then and hopefully it'll come back strong, no other option at this stage.

I can graze mine but again I get around to the last it will be too strong, all I’m worried about is by not spraying it will it effect it’s performance as everything else was done correctly

Yea, the spray I bought for mine is still in the shed.

Bit of chickweed in it but after cutting it shouldn't come back.

if it’s gone too strong now, I’d recommend just cutting it for silage as it stands. Then go with slurry, fertiliser and see what spray is needed in the after grass.

I did a re seed last September. Was too wet all winter and spring to graze and now too strong to graze. Mowed it today, will bale tomorrow.

I've put fertilizer on it for the pit in place of a regular silage field which is still too wet.

Will get slurry on both once it's cut and dung then before the winter, I hope.

Clovermax is one but if the reseed is over 6 months old the clover still might get hit as its too mature
