MP3 player for audio books - very simple

I need something for my dad to listen to audio books on.

He doesnt not have a smart phone and teaching him to use a tablet was a diaster.

He has recently had stroke and is stuck in hospital for the foreseeable. He is losing his mind with boredom.

I brought Alexa in but as his speech has been affected she doesnt understand him.

The other option would be to get a cheap smartphone like some of the lower end Samsungs or Doros which are designed for older people.

The Samsungs would allow you to have a simplified screen too (or at least they used too) and you could place just the audiobook app on the screen and lock it.

The current range of non-smartphone Nokias, even the cheapest ones, and many others have mp3 players and microSD slots.
