Retention planning and septic tank

    Hi folks,


    We have applied for retention planning on an extension we completed in 2020. The house is two storey stone cottage originally built between 1940s -1960s.


    We are aware that we will have to change septic tank and submitted a site suitability assessment which recommended Ter3 percolation and waste water treatment.


    The worry I have is that the maximum distance from the house is 6.8m. The required distance is 7m. The council have requested further information and site layout plan. I'm really unsure what will happen if planning is refused and were left in no man's land about what we can do with septic tank and percolation.
