€600 to fix exhaust, front brake pads, one tie rod end. Is that a lot?

The missus got a cheap Groupon car service deal and they found €600 of stuff to fix up.

I guess this is how they make money from the Groupon deal. Or maybe I'm being paranoid.

I feel she getting ripped off.

2004 Ford fiesta 1.2l hatchback.

Noisy exhaust, needs to be fixed. Back box needs replacing.

One tie rod end needs replacing.

Front brake pads need replacing.

Does €600 sound about right? I believe the parts are cheap enough, so is there a tonne of labour involved?

I think you know the answer yourself. The Groupon is priced to get you in the door. The rest is going to be up selling.

600 would be a large pirtion of the value of the car. Labour not huge on any if those jobs.

Go somewhere else.

Tie rod ends are less than €20, break pads are about the same. Exhaust backbox should be less than €100.

€600 is very expensive. Should only take 2/3 hours. Giving a total of €300 or so, plus VAT

Ye, you're getting quoted main dealer prices on a 20 year old festy. My advice is check the basics that you can, light, tyres, etc, throw it though the NCT and then fix what's actually needed with a local mechanic.
