Leinster 2nd poor pairing look poor

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,554 ✭✭✭dublinman1990

    Yep.

Charlie Ngatai, of Leinster, ran into Forde. Ngatai had the ball in hand.

From the TMO camera angles; Forde got hit from Ngatai's shoulder.

Ngatai should have got carded for that intent when both teams were in play.

Forde then gets the yellow for trying to defend against Ngatai.

you seem to be the only one, not baffled by the decision

Leinster played get dipped in butter before kick off or something.

Forde was too high in the tackle. He needs to get lower.

That being said I don't think it was any more than a penalty.

    That's not Leinstertainment

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,790 ✭✭✭✭Burkie1203

Onus is on tackler to go low but for me it's no more than a penalty.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,424 ✭✭✭Dave_The_Sheep

I'm not commenting on the decision in that comment, I'm commenting on people thinking Ngatai is somehow at fault.

I have already said I thought it wasn't a yellow.

My quibble is I don't know was even there head contact at all in the exchange as it didn't seem obvious in the replays, ref even queried it... strange one

Leinster basics fallen backwards since Lancaster left it’s alarming.

    Five lineouts lost now?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,491 ✭✭✭PCeeeee

Connacht need to make a bit more hay while the visitors are ragged

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,050 ✭✭✭hold my beer

Kelleher is a liability at the lineout. Such a shame as the rest of his game is so good.

  • Registered Users Posts: 470 ✭✭Blackheath

Connacht look good defensively and they are a good to watch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,002 ✭✭✭leakyboots

Looks like a lot of the errors are on him alright tonight.

Idiocy from Connacht getting into scraps when the ball is theirs

Leinster are ragged but you've got to credit Connacht's defence also.

Apart from that tap penalty, another well worked one from Leinster. About the only thing to go well for them tonight!

It's a first ever try for Ngatai in this match. Great score from him.

He needed that, was having a bad night.

God these new refs are awful, they love the sound of themselves

  • Registered Users Posts: 470 ✭✭Blackheath

Hurley Langton has mixed the very good with the very bad

That was a bad time for Connacht to lose their lineout there before HT.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,413 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Silly from SHL. Connacht would have cleared and probably had an 8 point lead at the break. Just invited the pressure back on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,178 ✭✭✭Brief_Lives

i think it is his second.

    I'll check

EDIT yea scored against the Dragons

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,491 ✭✭✭PCeeeee

I fear Leinster may sort things out a bit in the set piece at half time. Conn needed another score as reward for that half.

Will have to do it all again now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,002 ✭✭✭leakyboots

Leinster will be delighted to be only a point down but that's about it. Very poor first half from them... Connacht shot themselves in the foot a bit, that penalty for the tug on the scrumcap when they had the ball was very costly, they should be much further ahead. Surely Leinster won't be as bad in the second half?

Henshaw used bounce back from an injury and just pick up where he left off (Sexton and Earls were like that too) but he's looked a lot less effective this time round for a while, wonder have they taken their toll on him, he's been through the wars over the years.

Bit more composure from Connacht they'll get scores, Leinster need to sort out the basics... which is a harder task to fix in a dressing room in 10 mins

One of the worst halves I've seen us play in recent memory. I will 100% take being only a point down.

  • Registered Users Posts: 265 ✭✭Strand1970

Donncha looks like where's wally with those glasses

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,131 ✭✭✭ironingbored

Ref needs to cotton on to Connacht players holding Leinster players in looking for penalties.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,002 ✭✭✭leakyboots

Oh Harry, did he even reach touch there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,002 ✭✭✭leakyboots

    Great to see Healy back

Good Will Hunting-era Matt Damon at scrum half is slicing his kicks. Connacht have caught Leinster's disease, gone very sloppy at lineout in very key areas

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,178 ✭✭✭Brief_Lives

its ok... they'll just lose the lineout

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,178 ✭✭✭Brief_Lives

    y voila

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,707 ✭✭✭StevenToast

    Connachts lineout gone to shìt...

How in the name of jaysis are Leinster ahead? Nice one for Jenkins on his birthday

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,554 ✭✭✭dublinman1990

Leinster are back in business with that 2nd try.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,178 ✭✭✭Brief_Lives

Connacht are all over the shop, and they can't exit their half... and they are playing against a load of internationals.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,554 ✭✭✭dublinman1990

Leinster have their 3rd try held up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,131 ✭✭✭ironingbored

How is that not a high tackle?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,466 ✭✭✭✭phog

Connacht haunted there, ball deemed to be held up and no high tackle called

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,428 ✭✭✭✭Larbre34

How could it be called as held up, the point of the ball was between the attacker's arm and chest and there was no Connacht player anywhere near being under it. Had to be a try.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,554 ✭✭✭dublinman1990

Kelleher now has a try for Leinster.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,050 ✭✭✭hold my beer

We've found our mojo second half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,466 ✭✭✭✭phog

    Justice done, try scored

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,002 ✭✭✭leakyboots

Role reversal this half, Connacht a shambles and Leinster have their act together. Hard to see a way back for Connacht now

Leinster subs have changed it. Excellent footwork from Russell for that try.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,316 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

It's a shame the Culhane try was ruled out. The Russell chip and regather deserved a score.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,790 ✭✭✭✭Burkie1203
