    Sterling coming in for Martinelli.

Have the option of Saka -> Son; which scores more this GW Saka away to Villa or Son at home to Newcastle?

    Leaning towards Son

Turner to Dubravka if I go without any injuries

Just realized 4 of my midfielders will be off to AFCON/Asia Cup in January. Anyone know what game week this starts from and when it’s likely to end? Do the 2 run over much the same timeframe?

GWs 21-24 inclusive depending on how far the team goes. Mbuemo might also miss the second of a DGW in 20 depending on the date of it or he might get permission to play and travel later

    Tsimikas and Nunez benched

    wrong thread

Mbeumo to someone probably. Quite like the look of Hwang against a poor Forest side. Obvious option is Palmer or Gordon I suppose.

Has Hwang got Asian Cup coming up?

If we knew for sure that Garnacho would retain his place, and from all the evidence he really should, then he’d be some steal at 4.7m.

You reckon he’ll mostly end up on the bench for United or do you mean you’d mostly bench him if you owned him ?

If I owned him I think I’d have to start him. The biggest problem being his minutes might not be as guaranteed as others.

If his minutes were guaranteed I wouldn’t hesitate to start him if I owned him. Assuming United maintain the kind of performance they gave tonight.

Gusto out Colwill in. Alvarez getting one very last chance vs Luton.

Have the funds for Mbuemo to Son and might just do it

I still have to get rid of Matty Cash

  • Registered Users Posts: 124 ✭✭FantasyFool

Thinking of doing Mbuemo to Grealish. Seems an obvious starter after being suspended last night.

Tempted to take a punt on Iwobi in place or Mbuemo, looked great last night.

    Mbuemo to Gordon for me.

Sterling was the other one to consider but already have Palmer and don't trust Chelsea that much

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,191 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Would you have gone for Palmer to replace Mbuemo if you didn't have him?

I'm haven't started my search for a Mbeumo replacement yet but the plan a couple weeks ago was Palmer anyways. I'm bouncing up and down rank, generally staying the same. I'd suspect a lot will Mbeumo to Palmer so might look for an alternative to try make ground on others with a punt. A risky punt given Palmers returns, albeit a lot of pens, and fixture run. He has high xGI.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,850 ✭✭✭✭Ace2007

Garnacho at 4.7m is one i would go for - if your prepared to start him. Hwang is another option who I think has scored as many goals as Watkins has but has gone under the radar a bit.

Garnacho might even allow you to get in TAA or improve somewhere else if you wanted to

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,450 ✭✭✭Shedite27

Probably would go Sterling if I idn't have Palmer. More of a threat to get a real big score I think, obviously you can do a lot with the extra 1.7m tho.

One of my three non playing defenders this week so have decided its time to get rid of Matty Cash. He is predicted to have a price drop that would impact my sale price on him. Think this season has now pushed me over the edge as I've brought in Harry Maguire and am probably going to have him in my first 11 this week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,855 ✭✭✭crushproof

Nice Christmas fixture list though so could be a good short term punt. Palmer, Hee Chang and dare I say Mctominay are the other contenders.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,850 ✭✭✭✭Ace2007

Harry maguire has been doing great the last few weeks

    7,6,6,1,5 not bad for a 4.3m defender

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,665 ✭✭✭✭extra gravy

No such thing as an obvious starter in Pepworld. But if Doku is still injured he has a good chance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,665 ✭✭✭✭extra gravy

Don't really get the Garnacho hype. Two returns all season. Is he expected to start most games going forward?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,191 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

The Asian cup is keeping me away from Hwang and while Garnacho would help me move away from having 8 attackers with genuine starting claims every week, as such, it wouldn't fund TAA and I'm locked out with max Liverpool. TAA could well come in during AFCON though. Have to spread that Salah money out.

Yeah I think Sterling is a nice alternative, and while he might not get the consistent points, he is more capable of a haul.

I am half thinking of Foden. Max Man City attack with Alvarez & Haaland, surely they bounce back while playing Luton and Palace. Very little would have all 3. BGW18 I know but I have 15 playing players at the moment so I'm in a bit of luxury position. The FT could cover any injury that week.

I should maybe swallow my pride and buy Gordon back having sold him 2 GW’s ago.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,055 ✭✭✭fplfan12345

Son did an interview after the game and will seemingly be fine for the next game (On Twitter)

Was so set on getting him but still not sure now as they’ve lost 4 of their last 5 and drawn the other one.

I only fancy 2 of his next 5 games before he heads off for international duty.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,685 ✭✭✭sheroman01

I’ll boringly do Mbuemo to Palmer. I still don’t fully trust Chelsea but the fixtures are too good to ignore, it frees up funds and he’s on pens.

Just picked this off Twitter now. Assume it’s after tonight’s game.

The guy has 160k followers so can’t afford to be fuckin about/lying.

edit - it shows Son, in pain, on the bench

Planning on doing Mbuemo to Gordon & Andersen to Colwill

Really don’t want to get rid of Son unless we hear for definite that he’s out before tomorrow morning

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,303 ✭✭✭COH

Need rid of Cash, Mitchell, Mbuemo and possibly need to get a GK in :-/

2FT ... I hate myself so I may get Reece James in and either Maguire or Colwill.

Mbuemo > Bowen I think is the play and then Turner > Dubravka to complete the -8

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,459 ✭✭✭✭Green&Red

Looking for advice on the following, its only for the next two GWs and I can afford to bench the city asset in 18 in both cases. Hub predicted points in brackets, only a point in that. Seems like the floor is higher with Saka but the ceiling is higher with Martinelli

    Martinelli (9) + Foden (9.6)

    Saka (11.1) + Bsilva (8.5)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,055 ✭✭✭fplfan12345

Shame it wasn’t for a few more weeks.

I’d encourage you to sell Tsimikas for a cheapie like Branthwaite if it gave you the extra funds to get Saka and Foden.

I think Tsimikas will miss out on more games and will be a liability going forward.

To answer you question though I’d always want to choose the option that includes Saka.

If Doku was 100% declared available would you go with Saka and Doku ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,191 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Might be some confirmation bias here on my end, but I think that Foden has real explosivity, and the same with Martinelli even though he hasn't done it this season. Whereas Saka is more of a ticker-along, consistent 6ish points every week. Bilva tends to get hauls tbf, but when they happen is the question as there are a lot of 2s elsewhere. He is liable to play in midfield behind a front 4/5 too.

Arsenal have some tricky games against Villa & Liverpool, but Man City have the easier games and it's picking 1 from each. Martinelli might get some joy with the space vacated by Trent but could you do someone like Bowen + Foden? Even if Bowen is a bit short-term.

    I'd go option A of the 2

I think Tsimikas will get rested in the Europa League midweek game, and possibly one of the midweek games (League cup & Burnley) which would then allow him to do 3 games in 1 week just once from the 3 weeks for the rest of the year.

I would take a guess that he would be rested in the League Cup, and play the 3 league games to see out the year as there is a bigger recovery time between Burnley & Newcastle than there is between West Ham & Arsenal.

That would have him starting 5 of the 7 games. But he is coming off a total rest, and Liverpool don't need to send any senior players out to Belgium next week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,459 ✭✭✭✭Green&Red

Absolutely I would, why was he left out on Wednesday?

Tsmi to Brainwaite just seems like a nothing transfer when I'm so close to wildcarding

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,191 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

had started 8 of the previous 10 games iirc. Was due a rest, especially before a more hectic fixture period with bigger games. Which is a big change to his usual 1 start in 5!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,459 ✭✭✭✭Green&Red

Looked at Bowen but hes just a tricky price point

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,850 ✭✭✭✭Ace2007

He's only really started the last number of gams, he runs his socks off which is more than can be said for the majority of the untied players, had a number of chances in his last game and at 4.7m you can't go far wrong.

Might take a -4 this week. Mbeumo to Palmer and Mubama to Cunha. Would prefer Hwang from Wolves but Asian Cup is putting me off. Cunha is cheap, in form and means replacing a non playing asset which could be crucial with all the rotation on the way.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,733 ✭✭✭Cartman78

Is everyone going with Palmer as Mbeumo replacement?

I already have Gordon and Luiz.... looking at Gross as a possible differential... Brighton seem to have recovered a bit and have Burnley tomorrow 🤔

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,012 ✭✭✭ShagNastii

I’m trying to convince myself not to chance Maguire.

I’ll also finding it hard to ship Son. The style Spurs play is mentally attacking.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 907 ✭✭✭howareyakid

Thinking of doing Jesus and Gibbs-White to Højlund and Foden. Højlund a risk, but he looked lively against Chelsea and surely there are goals to come from him in the PL.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,191 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Currently working out what is the best 5 week plan out of Foden, Palmer, Sterling & Bailey. I have to factor in cost too as I will want Watkins around GW18 to captain him too, so funds will dictate it a bit. I threw in a Brighton MID just as you said it, and this was my ranking myself. All plans had Watkins coming at some stage, with some having Solanke coming in for Nunez to afford Watkins.

Foden seems the most explosive this week but Sterling seems to be the best long term plan, with Bailey in 2nd. Very undecided as I dunnno if I can trust Sterling. Great fixtures but some of them are against eve (good form), SHU (new manager bounce, back 5 etc), wol (in good form).

I'm not sold on Palmer myself.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,077 ✭✭✭shmeee

This will all depend on Dokus fitness, Pep gave little away in the press conference. If Doku is out, Grealish will start. I'd a good look on twitter earlier as Doku owner and nothing of note on his fitness. So toss of a coin unless something breaks in the morning which is doubtful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,314 ✭✭✭munster87

Last week made a transfer to allow funds to go straight from Mbeumo to Son.

I just can’t make a move for a player who looked as uncomfortable as he did after he was subbed against WHU which is disappointing after it was planned.

I think he’ll start for what it’s worth, always a chance he has to go off early though.

I instead made the switch to Bowen who is still not ack to his sharpest nut away to Fulham will hopefully suit him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,717 ✭✭✭Gusser09

Any solid info on son yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,077 ✭✭✭shmeee

Absoultely nothing, if I owned him I'd start him but wouldn't buy or sell him.
