Any idea how to get employee's attention when introducing new things like a new platform?

We want people to get familiar with it and use it. Do you know any tricks, or motivators that could work?

    Thanks a lot in advance!:)

Make sure they have to use it and there is no alternative. Make training videos and more traditional manuals to suit different learning styles and make sure they see the benefit of the new system

Advise them to ask for feedback in the work problems section on boards.ie

Bonuses for things that can only be done in the new system.

Or disciplinary actions for not meeting targets involving it,

eg say that all sales must be to customers listed in CRM X with at least three three linked Opportunities. No bonus will be paid for sales not meeting this requirement.

Assuming this will be moved to a relevant workplace forum.

People will always resist change to various degrees even if they are broadly in favour of it. It's human nature. You need to show clearly the benefits to both themselves and the company that would come from using the new system. Bonuses and penalties are good motivators of course but engaging with people, taking their feedback about what they like or dont like about the new system will be much more helpful to increase uptake. You could look up Lewin's change management model for ideas on how to get people out of their comfort zone in the old system and embracing the improvements of the new system.

Involve key staff in the selection/evaluation/implementation of the new system. Listen to and address their concerns (if valid).

People can be resistant to change. If you can get their buy-in on the need for the new system and the benefits it will bring - adoption by staff will be a lot easier.

That's assuming the new system has improvements

The Dublin Airport cap is damaging the economy of Ireland as a whole, and must be scrapped forthwith.

Hopefully said (appropriate) staff were involved in the selection of the new software, its benefits and flaws were known and communicated. Staff were engaged on what they need from the system.

They know what they need and how it needs to work, interface with other systems.

Train them to the letter on it.

Validate concerns and address them promptly.

Good managers understand their staff know more about the needs of the company that they are given credit for and what would be cost beneficial than many managers unfortunately.Utilise your staff in this respect.

Get them involved- Nominate an IT Staff Rep. Etc etc

If the user is frustrated by a time consuming inefficient system you're goosed. It MUST reap huge benefits or you've a uphill battle
