    Hi,

Trying to find out how to go about taking break/leave from a permanet job in Ireland and live work abroad e.g. Middle East.

Sabbatical doesn’t seem to cover this?

    thank you

What you're looking for is a career break. It's up to each employer whether they offer this or not.

If you search for "career break" on Google, you will get some information on how it works in the civil service or HSE.

If your employer doesn't offer career breaks, you may have to consider resigning if you want to go abroad

Often there are limitations to a career break. Look at the conditions.
