Anyone got a code for the Samsung site for a pair of the earbuds 3?

    Epp shop has no reductions.

Ye will have to forgive me for not reading 72 pages of this, but hopefully a quick question. I'm finally going about upgrading from the legendary S10, which still works perfect BTW, but I'll need a supported phone for a work app soon. I was just gonna go S24 base, as the size is pretty much the same, but it looks like the screen has taken a downgrade? FHD compared to QHD on the S10, 1080 vs 2160. Plus reduce ppi and nits/brightness, no edge notifications, and no fecking headphone jack.

So, is there actually a noticeable difference? 2k on this phone looks amazing, and I can tell the difference, so it really would be a deal breaker if the screen is not as good as my 6 year old legend. I don't use it for much, other than some videos, some simple Play games, but mainly for looking stuff up on t'internet. Cameras don't bother me but I suppose the better the better. They're never gonna replace dslrs so why bother trying!

The S24+ is an option, and while I have to use a provider that uses the 3 network (so 3, Tesco and Virgin), I'd prefer not to give money directly to 3, and they're easily the most expensive from those 3 choices. But they're the only ones with the +. Tesco only have the S24 but are the cheapest overall (2 year plan). Basically looking at a €300-€600 difference (mainly on the up front cost of the Ultra).

The S23 comes with free Galaxy buds and €100 cash back apparently, so thats also an option. Slightly cheaper and 4 more years is better than out of date, but not as good as 7 years... I'm pure Natalie Imbruglia about it!! And for some reason the Z Flip 6 is also within price range, but I'm sure the novelty would wear off and I'd be left with something I regret buying. Then again, maybe not. It is a funky little thing! And the hinge/screen is supposed to be the best yet... choices choices!

    Any and all help appreciated.

I just got the S24U and I am disappointed with the camera, I am messing around with the settings to get the best pictures and I am still not happy. I had the pixel 7 pro before this and the difference with the camera is night and day.

Can anyone recommend the best camera settings?

IInsold S24u and found s23u has a better camera. First time has so many issues with a ultra phone.

I've had the P7Pro, S23U and S24U. Honestly couldn't say that one was clearly better or worse with regards to photos.

Had issues with zoom, focus speed, display grain. None faced ever in s23u. I get ultra every year for the past 3 years, so fairly ate ease with samsung phones ( using since s7). May be software fixed it later on. But I still feel s23u gives better pics than last s24u one is left in family. S24u had big edge in battery time.

There is supposed to be an update on the way to address camera issues, possibly wth the September update.

Maybe I'm a bit of a caveman, but I don't notice any vast improvement on my new S24 over my previous S10e.

I don't game, or watch films on my phone, so perhaps I am missing big improvements there, but for casual use and casual photography, I see no difference.

I am thinking perhaps the law of diminishing returns on phones now? Plus, the S10e was a cracking phone for it's age.

You're not alone - I was broadly of the same view after upgrading to a s23+ last year from my s10e. Other than battery life (s10e was knackered on that front, hence the need to change), the other improvements were incremental/marginal at best. The AI features that have been heavily promoted by Samsung for the latest phones are a load of hot air.

The S10E had a 60hz screen at 1080p. It's nowhere near the operation of am s24U let alone the predecessor S23U.

They'd be night and day in terms of even perceived speed and usage.

Yip screen is smoother to scroll with, but overall it would be hard to see the difference if watching a YouTube clip on my S24 vs S10e.

I don't have the Ultra BTW , just the standard one.

I just think moving from S10e to an S24 didn't produce any wow factor for me. I could have easily went to an S21 or S22 for example, without the extra expense of an S24. Ok I know the updates for the S24 are until 2030 I think, which is a good plus point. Assuming my battery holds out that long.

I sent the S24 Ultra back to Samsung and I got a refund.

I had it 2 weeks and when I contacted Samsung they said I could return it for a refund or replacement.

    Fair enough.

I've always found pixels overexposed and artificially coloured their photos through processing.

The images may have been more realistic on the samsung tbh.

I'm not a big photographer type. I don't get too involved with the settings. I'm more a point & click guy. I'm usual pretty happy with point & click using the Expert Raw app.

From reading else where I don't think there are any camera updates, seems to be mostly AI changes

There is lots of things being updated listed there on the installation

Good deal via Revolut on either a flip phone or S24 series....10 to 15% plus a free chromebook. Plus you get Revpoints or can use their interest free split payments feature.

    Someone here might know.

I got a new Samsung phone last month and I see Boost is now replaced with Wallet.

Problem is all the Wallet promos are UK only. For example I've received £60 in Galaxy Store credit but can't redeem it due to not being in the UK.

Have tried VPN but no dice...any tips?

Dunno, they gave me a tablet whne I bought a few months ago.

Several of us set up a Curve account using a UK address. This means you get a UK virtual card number. It works perfectly for wallet uk

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,309 ✭✭✭✭mrcheez

so I need to add a UK virtual card to the wallet in order to redeem Galaxy Store credit?

    Heya, hows things?

I'm looking to get the Samsung S24 in Vodafone, does anyone know do they offer Snapdragon or Exynos as the chipset? Would Samsung Ireland offer Snapdragon?

Only the Ultra has the Snapdragon chip in the EU, all others (S24 & S24+) have the Exynos chip
