Anyone getting ITV 4?

ITV 4 went dark on me, last week.

I have updated my LG TV to get ITV 4 from 11068V 23000 DVB-S2 but when I try to update the TV says "No Channels Found".

I lost NHK too, last year. Not bothered if I don't get it back but the 72 Hours documentary was pleasant enough.

Any ideas?

ITV4 and a few others are now HD only, dvb-s2 8psk, 11067V, 23000 3/4.

oops I see what you mean but try my 11067V AND can you enter 8psk?

Nothing on 11087 V 23000. I am unable to enter 8psk as an option on this television. It's only a few years old 4K set.

Maybe I need a new dish. I have a rusty old mesh dish in south Leinster. The LNB is fairly new.

Sorry that was a typo above. Everything was entered as you recommended.

I am using Lyngsat.com to get the values but Lyngsat doesn't list 11067, just 11068. Neither frequency is showing ITV 4. Both have weak, intermittent signals and if they do grab any channels then it's just variants of ITV 1, which I never watch.

I did a network and blind scan, earlier today but no ITV 4 any where.

Annoyingly at certain times of day my Sky box "Other Channels" shows no signal for ITV4HD but other times during the day, it's fine.

At all times of the day, my "Freesat" connection on my LGTV shows ITV4 perfectly. Have to switch to this if the sky box isn't working. Presume it's down to a weak tuner on the Sky box?

In my case it's a couple of transponders that are showing "no signal" on my tuner.

My dish is a Sky mesh type, about 15 years old and rusty. I am going to replace it with a slightly larger, non-mesh dish. I think that will improve the amount of signal I am getting.

I don't think Sky would admit to supplying a box with a weak tuner. The only reason they recognise for intermittent reception is bad weather. If you have a contract with Sky you should contact them for a resolution.

Do a Before and After to see what improvement happens. See what your signal readings are at present, and compare them when the work is done. There are variations in the signal strength/quality from different transponders.

How old is the Sky receiver? If it's an old "Sky+ HD" receiver it'll be a good few years old now and it could be failing.

Also, ITV4 is on the spot beam and should be one of the strongest signals received in Ireland from 28E so if it's failing but most of the channels on the European beams are fine (e.g. NHK World Japan tends to be one of the weaker ones), that would look like a fault with the receiver rather than a dish misalignment or, depending on the channels that are missing, a faulty LNB output.

Yeah, could be the LNB output going to the Sky box.

Will check some of the more problematic channels like NHK World Japan. The fact it's intermittent, but it's perfect on all TVs I have FreeSat on is the odd bit.

Would the frequency I used in "Add Channels" matter? I've seen folks post both of the below?

A perfect picture does not give any indication of signal strength/quality. If there is enough signal at 50% it will be the same picture as 100%. You could look at the signal readings on those TV's to see how strong it is. Use either 11067 or 11068 if tuning ITV 4 HD, makes no difference.

On my set up NHK is 9 dB on a scale which goes up to 20. BBC One NI HD is 17 dB, so there are big variations. ITV 4 HD is 12.5.

To answer my original post. It was the dish. A rusty Sky mesh dish. Replaced with a fibreglass dish. No more rust. No more drop outs.

I doubt he was even in contract with them , i must have mine 20+ years and no rust. Not with Sky anymore.

Never with Sky. Always Freesat. The mesh dish is a "go to" for many installers because it is cheap. In our location, the dish has been battered by wind, dirt and rain for many years. Bits of it would be found in the garden, every day. I was not the original installer. A long overdue repair completed.
