Convert garden shed

Ok, so I have quite a large shed in the garden (well I think it is!) Block built and roof looks ok, don't believe it's asbestos.

I'm hoping to split it into a garden room/office and a shed/utility. There is electricity in it.

Any ballpark figures how much this would cost? Or if I have a hope of getting someone to do a little job like this?

The family on Room to Improve last weekend (Sunday January 21st) got a price to renovate a very small concrete shed to make it an office. The price quoted was about €5,000.

Probably cheaper as the builders were on site and all preliminaries in place.

Get some quotes.

It depends on the current level of finish. Concrete slab? Are you insulating it? Are you wiring it? Are you heating it? Toilet? Windows and door? Finishes?

Really, I just want a utility one side and a office/ garden room the other. I don't need insulation and there is electric there already, will need water I guess. I am just looking for walls etc! I have no idea about construction

Ok. Write out everything you want and get 3 quotes.

Why wouldn’t you insulate it if it’s going to be an office? You’ll have electrical equipment out there that will get damp etc

Shed utility, you could leave uninsulated perhaps. But rest of the room, insulate. Will it need more windows ?

I can see this will definitely be more expensive then I hoped! I guess it will need some insulation etc
