Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

UK Car Sourcing / Calculations

    Hi, looking for some advice. Has anyone here used dealers to source particular cars for you on the UK market in recent times? What was your experience/ process, costs etc?

    I am looking to get a Merc C300e Phev 2022 model. On donedeal, there are only 2023 reg cars available and the cheapest is 61k currently.

    Across the water, a 2022 model can be picked up for much less. Do my calculations make sense?

    Cost of car €37000

    Less uk VAT €30800 (20%)

    Plus Irish VAT €37925 (23%)

    Plus Vrt €3700

    Plus customs (10%) €3700

    Total €45325

    Even with another 2/3k it seems attractive. Any advice or experience or corrections?

    Your calculations are correct. But theres a few additional costs to consider such as freight, customs broker, tax, nct, etc.

    A dealer won’t source you a car for anywhere near that tho. Expect to pay full market value.

    And if you got them prices from Autotrader then I’d expect auction prices to be about £3,000 less.
