Transfer of land to non relative

Hi just wondering does anybody know if you can transfer land to a non relative.my father wants to transfer land to family members but my sister boyfriend who is a farmer would likely buy it so would it be a cheaper option just to transfer it into his name?

Nevertheless, he'd be stung for tax on the transfer. Though there would be ways to reduce liability

There are / were low tax options to transfer farmland within families. I don't think it extends beyond niece / nephew being the recipient. Talk to a solicitor or tax advisor experienced in such matters.
