Spiked running shoes

Hi bought a first pair of spike shoes for my 10 year old. They are for an atlethic track. He has an event in a few weeks want to do some training with him and getting him used to them etc. but not too many proper atlethics tracks nearby. would it be ok generally ok to train on Astro or grass with these spikes?

On astro I think I'd stick to some regular runners. To break in the shoes, grass would be fine but at this time of year it could be very soft so consider putting in longer spikes - track spikes are generally very short and probably won't give the grip you'd want.

You are not supposed to use steel studs on astro so please dont use steel spikes.
