Your lucky I left my harley with harley Davison shop in ballymount last May 2023 to be repaired and got it back in end August 23,I drove it for 2 weekends and then bike starting the same problem again backfiring losing compression and idle, and it's back with them since October 2023,after me bringing it back to them 3 times their excuses are it's old or dirty petrol that's their favourite excuse, then they told me and this is the best ,that when losing compression the oil from the engine when I'm driving blows forward and over front of rotator and my bike is still in shop plus I asked them to send me dionoxis computer reports on work they've done since October 2023 until February 2024 and they sent me 3 different reports of 1 different harley and blank dionoxis report, with nothing on it ,I bought bike in May 23 and next day engine valve blew, and I gave it to harley Davison shop in Dublin ballymount to Derek, and Pete, and my bike is there 11months and their saying they don't know how to fix it 2584 euro I've paid them but they will not be fking me around anymore my advice to all is keep well away from them because I've talked with 3 other people who have had this problem with them and 1 women who was nearly killed when bike cut out on m50 round about,I'll keep you posted on my motorbike

I guess it’s a positive that HD reliability is inversely proportional to the noise they put out.

One less Harley on the road, what’s not to like?👍

Why didn't they just refund you a new bike if it blew the next day?

The BMW I have got an entire engine swap becuase the paint was bubbled in a section and the warranty just covered a full engine. (I didn't own the bike at the time, but I can see it in the service manual that it was replaced under warranty)

Also paying nearly €3000 in the first year of a bike seems odd, surely the warranty should have covered this

Did the bike run when they sold it to you?

The bike losing compression and so on sounds like you didn't have enough oil for the hydraulic lifters to probally do their job? if the bike sat up for a while before the sale the seals can go from being dried out

This would make sense when you mention that there is an oil leak as that that would reduce oil pressure to the lifters and cause fueling and exhuast issues which can lead to top end failure

Breaking a screw in an engine is a PIA but not the end of the world. Can drill it out and replace if needed.

I always thought part of the fun of a Harley was to have a simple bike you can do alot of the repairs and customisation on your own tbh.

I paid 2584 euros to get it all fixed as you disgribed and the shop didn't fix it right and that's how I still have the same problems with bike which they have tried to deny for last 10mths they have my bike and I won't be taking it off them until everything is fixed right as I've 2year guarantee on everything that they replaced
