Why might a planning enforcement case require a special sitting of District Court?

Anyone have any idea? Is the case likely to be resolved at such a sitting?

If it's urgent and requires immediate action.

Eg. Potential of demolition or other near impossible to reverse action.

There is probably a major risk factor with the unauthorised development. If the court rules that the development must cease with immediate effect with possible imposed restrictions then any continuance can result in imprisonment for contempt. The normal enforcement procedures are quite laborious and time consuming.

That's just my take on it without knowing the details.
