Diver watch recommendations

I'm thinking of getting a diver style watch in price of €600 to €1400

I'm thinking of a Certina or a Christopher Ward.

I recently wanted a Longines but I tried it on and ruled it out I felt it w too blingy.

I'm also not too keen on a date on the face but was majority appear to have a date.

Any recommendations apreciated.

Is it your first? They are often bulkier than you might think. A Casio duro is a great way of finding out if you like the style

If you don't mind a "homage" maybe a steinhart?

What about a seiko skx or a prospex if you want to spend more?

I'm not keen on Seko or Casio.

My daily watch is a Hamilton titanium field watch absolutely love that. I own an amazing apartment by the sea and I'd like a quality diver watch to last me a lifetime.

I was in Dublin recently for a day out and I went trying on several divers by Hamilton, Tudor, Tag Heuer, Omega, Longines.

I used to have a Tissot field watch 43mm so I'm used to large watches.

Only thing to watch out for is that they can sit up high on your wrist. I don't think you can walk into a shop to try one on either. My wife wears one.

Biased as I have one, but made in Belfast and smack bang in the middle of your budget.. Nomadic Marai fits the bill

How about a Squale 1521? They have a unique case that you won't see copied/homaged. They come in a bead blasted finish if you don't like "bling". The standard models have a date window though. There's a special edition without a date (pictured above with an aftermarket sapphire bezel insert) but that's only available with the polished case.

Sinn EZM 3 would come in under budget. Great watch, I picked up one at the start of last year and I rarely wear anything else these days.

2.5k woukd open a lot of omega options. You won’t lose a penny ……….

or drop 1k on some random watch that you won’t be able to resell unless you take a 50 percent bath.

A yes. If I ever get an inheritance I'll get myself a Tudor that's my dream watch. The new Omegas are gone too expensive. It's amusing I have a watch obsession. I'm very tempted by the Omega for €2,200 on Adverts but then I see reviews of CW stating they are as good or fraction of the price

I'd second the earlier suggestion of a Sinn, but I must temper that advice with the fact I own 4🤪

The advice re: Bond era quartz Seamaster is decent. 1 thing I'd advise if going with that is to make sure it's the 41mm version rather than 36mm. I have the auto/GMT version and it's a firm favourite.

So TLDR; Budgets are elastic and buy a Sinn or Omega 😁

CW make some really nice watches, that said? I'd never buy a brand new one. Their Sealander GMT is v.nice, comes in at 1.4k or so new, but nearly half that via private 2nd hand on Watchuseek at the mo, and if memory serves a 36mm BNIB 36mm version sold less than €700 on TZUK recently.

It was the 39mm version and it went for £695 which is v.good value!

If I was in the market for a diver now, I'd probably make an offer on this 2nd hand one.

It's kinda retro in its styling, but it's different. So many divers look the same, but this one is nice imho.

Seems a bargain at £600.
