Invalidity pension and state pension

Hi every body .

I just got the invalidity pension few days ago but i'll be 66 in May

My application for state pension contributory " is now being under reviewed by an officier " since January.

Do I need to do anything ?

As I was reading that the disability pension automatically becomes a State Pension as soon as i turn 66 .

You don't need to do anything, the process of transferring you to the state Pension has commenced, it's automatic.

is it Disability or Invalidity pension as you mention both.

Morning.

OK, This Might be one of 2 things.

A. Your Invalidity pension has now ended & your state pension kicks in or

B. You may not have had enough contributions for a Contributory State Pension (Just a guess). This means you may have to apply for a Non Contributary pension which is means tested.

Is your Invalidity pension still active (approved) on my welfare 🤔 this will stop on your 66th Birthday.

Looking back at your OP It seems your State pension was under review a long time, January - May.

This happened to me , I was on Disability Allowance & thought I'd be moved onto OAP automatically at 66 but no, I had to fill in all the forms for Non Contributory Pension, they say allow 3 months & with the questions & queries they are probably right, I got it in the end.

It couldn't be B as they were awarded IP which is prsi based so therefore would automatically qualify for state pension.

Yes it was, in fact I received no money on the week of my birthday

A person may have had enough contributions at the time of being awarded IP, but from then on, they got credited Contributions, so it's possible they don't have enough for full state pension, again just a guess.

Most unusual DA was paid after your 66 birthday 🤔, you say you got no money on your birthday, was it stopped 🤔

Incorrect. Credited or not, one transfers from IP to State Pension automatically.

i wonder , is there any difference between apply for Increase for Qualified Adult when you ask for Invalidity Pension , and : apply for increase for Qualified Adult , once you get State Pension contributory ?
