If Bennett misses then people would of course say that Owens put the shooter off.

    Weird to even suggest otherwise.

The Saturday Game returns this weekend with highlights and analysis of the day's GAA action, including cork v limerick

Worked really well last year. With the amount of games on you need 2 shows at times.

Just getting around to Sunday Game highlights of weekends hurling. All five or six minutes of Tipp v Waterford. The penalty incident with Owens running across the penalty area was ridiculous but one thing i thought immediately was if Bennet had missed you can be sure Bennet, Davy and co would have berated the referee until it was allowed to be retaken. Tipp goalkeeper Hogan and other Tipp players should have demanded the same. They just accepted their fate with very little protest.

So far i've only seen two games on tv Galway v Kilkenny and Limerick v Tipp. Was away for opening weekend and have missed all of GAA GO. It's not the cost of it for me its matter of principle. I pay my licence fee and not a cent more. The fact RTE involved in it and an RTE head of Sport is on board of directors is just wrong and as we have seen in the last last year i think RTE are up there with FAI as the most corrupt organisations and to hell with them if there going to get me to pay for GAA matches. Sure wasn't that yoke Dee Forbes a director of GAA GO and we saw how that rat scurried away and couldn't even face the music when asked about her involvement in the RTE dodgy payments fiasco. And these the type of people i'm supposed to feather their nest further? No chance. Corruption at it's very worst.

But it's hard to talk about the games or post here when you are relying on the radio and 5 minute highlights. I meet GAA people on a daily basis and most of the time there is very little to say bar the basics and how much we dislike GAA GO. It's not good for the game over all imo. The hurling nearly half way over already and so much of the action hidden behind a greedy pay wall.

In fairness to the Dubs that's a fair result, they may give Kilkenny and Galway enough trouble when they meet.

A fine result for Carlow. They're arrived on the big scene. Big chests up and out on the scene in Carlow tonight.

A great result for Leinster hurling and minnows all over the country. Time to pump money into these counties and gets the clubs going. There's hurlers everywhere.

Looks like Leinster is the more competitive province then

Might be a bit early to draw conclusions. What about the savage beatings Antrim took against Kilkenny and Dublin? Will Antrim or Carlow pick up another point?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,446 ✭✭✭✭castletownman

Well one of them will definitely pick up another point as they are to play each other.

One thing's for sure. Can't wait for the at most 3 minute highlight package on the Sunday Game of Carlow's best ever championship result.

dead right, and Carlow can feel somewhat unfortunate not to have taken something from the Dublin game, will be very interesting indeed to see how they now get on against Wexford next week, no doubt the yello bellies will be on high high alert

In fairness it was at least on GAAgo which everyone complained about because the picked the "wrong game"

And it won't be on the Sunday Game because there is a Saturday Game this week and they played Kilkenny so I bet it gets a lot more than 3 minutes.

Have Carlow ever even come near to drawing with KK in championship nevermind actually doing so? Must be historic

KK definitely underestimated Carlow something they would have never done when Cody was in charge.

Just got the result. Never thought i'd see the day where Kilkenny fail to beat Carlow in senior championship hurling. Has to be Carlow's greatest hurling day. Certainly up there anyway. Great day for all the hurling folk in Carlow who keep the show on the road against all the odds. What is it five senior clubs? And to draw with the aristocrats of the game wow fantastic stuff.

Fantastic result for them, well done to all concerned.

Antrim brought back down to earth in 'fortress Parnell' today. A 20 point mauling in the capital might temper Antrims expectations a bit after their Wexford victory. Some fancied an Antrim win today. I couldn't see it at home. The Dubs were waiting and primed and put in a good shift by all accounts (wasn't at it). Galway won't have it all their own way in Salthill when Dublin roll into town.

What's the point of yellows to management if they can still stay on sideline?
