Prospective Kings Inns student seeking study advice

Hello!

I’ve been away from law for a couple of years now but decided over the past 6 months that I want to pursue the barrister at law degree. 

Now here’s the “how long is a piece of string?” question - I currently work full time and plan on signing up for the revision course this summer. I plan on starting to study in May and come mid-July, go part time in work. Would this be sufficient studying? I read a post here about someone who started back in January so wondering if I’m screwed. Any guidance appreciated!

I did the BL while working full time. I'd recommend signing up to Law School.ie for the revision classes. Found them excellent. Also if you sign up now you get access to last year's lectures so can get a head start.

Yeah. Like everyone is different. If you stay on top of the material as you go through the prep course it's very doable. They will give tips as to what's likely to come up and focus on how to answer questions. It's a case of knowing a little about a broad range of topics.

With the exams just keep going. I was convinced I failed Contract but passed in the end. In terms of those doing the modular BL it was people from all walks and a good cohort of mature people so not recent grads who all got the entrance exams. It's a tough few months slog but they are very gettable.

thank you - to be honest I think I might have to leave it until next year as there’s other commitments in my life that will naturally get in the way. Think I might just be too late this time around

Well you know your situation and time commitments but I wouldn't psyche myself out either. As I said they are doable, I think they're marked easier than the Fe1s just they're more condensed.

I'm in a similar boat, I'll be studying for the entrance exams while working full time.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a revision course? Or are Griffith, Law school and City Colleges all fairly interchangable?
