Yeah for Galway, Monaghan are probably going to surprise a lot of people. I'm expecting that to go the way the Sligo and Westmeath matches went for Galway, possibly trailing for long stretches.

The wind has been knocked out of Galway and there's a lot of talk about going to the quarter final, I don't know anyone heading to Salthill this Saturday. Could be a grim match and experience.

I noticed they took promo photos for the knockout stage at Lough Beg co.Derry. That is the area where the ancient bog body was found this year.

Jesus this game is even worse than expected . Absolutely devoid of atmosphere as well. Time to hit the road now anyway so will miss the rest :D

Joe was that not a black card for Conroy?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,461 ✭✭✭theoneeyedman

And an identical late hit by Tierney.... Also yellow. Ref is a Homer.

Galway fortunate to be 6 points to 5 up at half time.

Roscommon racing into a 0-6 v 0-1 lead away to Tyrone. Dont know if theres a wind factor.

The ref is a real homer in the Galway vs Monaghan match.

Galway move on to quarter final with a three point win at home to Monaghan.

    Rossies six ahead v Tyrone.

Roscommon 9-3 up against Tyrone at half time. Tyrone still 2/1 to win game. Worth a bet.

Hard to know when not seeing the game on tv. Only tuning into radio now so dont know if there is a wind factor at play.

There is no wind anyway worth talking about. Roscommon defending very well and fully deserved their lead. Missed a great goal chance too which could have finished it.

Roscommon 8-15 is the only bet I would consider. 8-15 winner far better than 2-1 loser and very difficult to see any way back for Tyrone.

Five points is not a massive lead. Esoecially away from home. A Tyrone goal and lead would be almost wiped out. Hard game to call i can see it going down the home stretch. I'll call a draw and Tyrone in extra time.

    Would love that 2/1 now.

    ...... or not.

Roscommon have knocked out Tyrone by 14 points to 12. The ground work was layed with a six point lead at half-time.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,333 ✭✭✭Gael85

That a great win for Roscommon. Daire Cregg kicked a great point at the end.

The Ulster Championship is only competitive because they’re all useless

Brilliant win for them. Glad for manager Davy Burke as he's come in for a lot of stick. Doing it away from home up in Tyrone shows the Rossies have a harder edge than they are sometimes given credit for.

This is tongue in cheek before the hate. Although Tyrone were poor.

Derry travelled last night and stayed in Westport so no long drive to deaden the legs today. Not sure if this is normal procedure for counties. I'd imagine Cork travelled today in preperation for tomorrows game v Louth as it's an even longer journey and a much earlier throw in.

Watching Mayo is like groundhog day. They must be a full decade going back and forth in front of defences and getting nowhere, knowing that the only chance they have to be effective is to run at them and be direct. Yet here we are looking at the same tactics which failed time and again.

This is a hard watch, looks like last week took a lot out of Mayo

Why is it that those ex Dubs try to come across as cleverer than everyone else with their glasses

Happy retirement to Conor McManus, a great servant to Monaghan.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,431 ✭✭✭YabaDabaDooley

Conor McManus announced his retirement from intercounty today. What a great player he was. Has to be up there with Michael Murphy and Peter Canavan as the greatest forward to come out of Ulster.
