    Hi,

I am just in the process of completing my registration with the Teaching Council. This is for working iin the Further Education sector. However, I will also be looking to work as a cover teacher in the secondary sector. In the UK you would usually sign up with a recruitment agency who would place you in a school for a day or longer. Is the process the same in Ireland? If so, does anyone know of any agencies who specialise in this regard especially in the Dublin area?

    Thanks in advance,

    Ricky

Educationposts.ie is probably the best site for vacancies. You can sign up for Subseeker for primary and/or secondary where you can select where and when you're available to sub. I don't know of any specific agencies.

Also for further education it comes under etbs so you have to check each etb whether there are vacancies.

As your registration isn't complete with the TC, you can't do more than a few days here or there. "Schools are entitled to employ unregistered teachers in urgent or unforeseen circumstances but they are limited to teaching in a particular school for a maximum of five days and are paid an unqualified rate of pay."

"The department says an unregistered person must hold at least a level seven qualification on the National Framework of Qualifications and any unregistered person who is a teacher must be vetted for child-protection reasons."

Open to correction but I don't think you can register on educationposts without those.

Hi. I'm just wondering. I myself am registered with the teaching council through further education route 3, I have some subbing lined up through subseeker ,this will be my first time doing that next week. I have some experience tutoring in etb's. Would I be considered qualified or unqualified for my rate of pay?

I also see in the screenshot,it says on the teaching council ,I am not bound by the 5 day rule

You will receive the unqualified rate, you are not subject to the 5 day rule and can work as much as you want.

No agencies in Ireland. Just contact schools to find work.
