Without Broadband due to roadside pole falling

So during that storm a few weeks ago, a pole that carries the wire for the broadband on the road outside our house, was knocked. If fell across the road and the council had to cut the wire in order to re-open the road and we've been without internet. It doesn't affect anyone else on our road as we're the very last house on the line! The company responsible with dealing with repairs for Vodafone sent out Circet on two separate occasions, and both times they told us that they couldn't fix it because "we didn't know that there was a pole down". We finally got an honest answer since and have been told that it'll be at least three weeks before it will be back working.

I've been thinking that there's another way to pass the wire across further down the road. It would actually be taking a shorter route, so if reconnecting the wires isn't difficult, then perhaps we could do it ourselves while we're waiting for the pole to be replaced. This is what one cut end looks like.

This is what the cut wire looks like on one side. Close gap between the 'p' and the 'o' before pasting link!

    Thanks

Fibre broadband cable has to be spliced with specialised equipment rather than just joined up with the old copper cables. Not possible to joint it yourself unfortunately.

10/10 sharing the least useful photo possible.

KNN use a different team for civils work which this probably falls under. Most civils stuff impacts many customers. They might have 30 jobs on their sheet and you're going to be at the very bottom of that list due to the smallest possible impact.
