Removing toilet bowl with rusty screws

Hi

I am trying to remove the attached toilet bowl to prepare for tiling. Any suggestions on how I can remove this bowl?? I can't even see what type of screwdriver I would need it's that rusty

Tackled that very job at home 2 years ago. We drilled out the heads of the screws 90% of the way, gave it a pull and up it came.

When you replace it , use brass or stainless steel screws.

They will be a Phillip or pozi screw, if your not planning on reinstalling it, take a hammer to it, you’ll get the screws out after with a vice grip

if there is 2 toilets on the one line upstairs can I remove a broken toilet and cover the pipe with a bag to stop smell. Would the other toilet back flow over to the pipe where the toilet was. I won’t have a new one in for few days.

you can get a counter sink drill bit set on screwfix if you know the size of the head.

I ordered a set about 10 years ago on alibaba for something similar and use the set at least once a year to get something out. that would be near impossible without the set

edit: Need a decent drill I find for really stubborn screws

Drill into the screws or better still, if you have a little wiggle room then a multi tool will cut through them in seconds.

I'm sure the OP had this sorted by now but as those are old flat head screws working the end of a broken hacksaw blade across the slot in the head would probably recondition the slot enough for a screwdriver to work on them. I have an old style impact driver I use on such screws but you still need to clean the slot up first.
