Cost of roof tile installation

As part of a new build roof quotation, I have been quoted a prices of 7 euro per concrete tile for installation. This is the installation price and does not include the cost of the tile itself. As we are installing something like 1500 tiles, the cost for their installation is ~10K. Does this price seem reasonable ? Cannot find information on the internet about tile cost installation. Thanks.

what does it include, are they putting up the roof timbers, latting and felting all for that price, 1500 seems like a very samll amount of tiles, is it an extension? get a couple of quotes

The 7 euro is just for fixing each concrete tile. All other roof work not included. Roof is square and hipped on a 165m2 two story new build. Total quote for labour is 23K - for a complete roof, including soffit/fascia installation. I supply all materials. 1500 tiles is correct (tiles are large. 9.7 per m2). Got another quote which was even more !

Seems roofing labour is very expensive ! Job to involve 3 carpenters, taking 3 weeks.

so these people are coming in fitting just the tile only, separate company doing all the other roof work, strange situation why wouldn't one firm do it all

Ah stop, seven euro a tile, am i missing something here, takes a minute to fix a tile in place

Thanks all for the replies. Same roofers doing the whole roof job. Just trying to understand the tile installation part of the quote. They are large concrete tiles (10 per m2), which probably means a little more effort to fix (though not much extra effort I would think). At the end of the day, it looks like the 3 week job will mean a 500 euro per day cost per carpenter. I don't want to get into the ins and outs of what their pay should be, and that cost will of course include cost of travel etc etc, but it's still a hefty pay day for the job. I don't mind paying extra for a good job; just needing to know if what I'm quoted is in reasonable territory, even if at the high end.

A 3 week job to put down 1500 tiles for 3 men. 3 men!

So each fella puts down 30 odd tiles a day! Complete pisstake, par for the course at the minute tho.

Okay this is as i thought, ignore the cost per tile part of the quote it means nothing, its the overall price you need to look at, 23K labour probably isn't too unreasonable in todays market

Guessing that there must be huge demand for carpenters at the moment, and they can pick and choose their work. At 2500 euro per week (some of that is for costs admittedly), I might consider switching jobs myself !

well i am sure you have gotten multiple quotes, that seems to be the figures you are getting back, its your choice to proceed or not
