    ECSC-- Shooting and Field Sports Car Boot Sale. Sunday 19th May 2024.

    The success of the first two Car Boot Sales we held last year and the year before, has encouraged us to repeat the event at our range in Roundwood on Sunday 19th of May, between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. This sale is open to all people who take part in the Shooting or Field sports, including Archery. Club members and friends do not need to book a spot. Non club members who are intending to set up a stall, should contact us in advance so that we know you are coming and can allocate a space. There is no charge for a space. You will need to bring a table or racks to display your wares. There were plenty of accessories, clothing, bags, scopes, mounts, mats, slings etc. available. No firearms or ammunition can be sold or displayed for obvious reasons.

    Please be aware that this is not your usual car boot sale. It is better described as a car boot sale and exchange. You do not need a table or stall unless you have a lot to sell. A chair will do or a pocket! We all acquire bits and pieces as we develop our skills in any sport and we then decide we need to change some of these. Bring what you want to trade and see how you get on. If you are new to the shooting sports then just bring money and your wits. you may be surprised at what you can get at a much lower price than in a shop.

    I had posted this event on Facebook but they removed it for incorrect reasons. They said that the post was selling banned items(guns and/or ammunition) yet the post specifically stated that these items could not be included, in line with the law in Ireland. I asked for a check by a human being but nothing changed. No surprise. What is a bit puzzling is that FB is full of shooting related groups and pages so I can out understand why they removed the post,

    Reminder, the sale is on this coming Sunday. Lots of interest, if selling, please park on the LHS when you enter the parking area. If just buying, please park on the RHS. If not sure what to do, just gaze around in an absent minded manner and one of our helpful members will look after you.😊
