Is it possible to claim tax credit for union membership like FORSA?

My FORSA union membership fee per year is 425.30. Is it possible to claim tax credit for this?

Do any other union membership allow this?

Not for some years - was removed in the 2010s. Doesn't matter which union.

No. You dont need to be in the union anyway since very rarely are they useful, they tend to take the organisations side in any dealings ive had with them.

Just adding that the old union was the CPSU before they merged and they lost a lot of members after the strike in 08 or 09 when they decided that they would only do a 1 day strike so they would'nt have to cover paying their members, where as the other unions all did 2 days.

Possibly removed in the 90s.Unions are of major benefit to employers.I tend not to believe all the goody 2 shoes stories about the multi nationals helping their employees and banning unions.

Unions are far from perfect but if personal matters arise they can be worth their weight in gold to an individual member.
