I have a windows 10 laptop I turn on wifi it says no network detected I have mobiles working on the 2.4 GHz wifi I had a wifi connection working for about 15 seconds

I don't know if it's a 2.4 b or 2.4 g network wifi adaptor is an Intel dual band adaptor

II disabled the adaptor turned off the laptop turned it on again and enabled it

    It makes no difference

II set power saving mode to maximum performance on the wifi adaptor I turned off all the firewalls

I tried the wireless troubleshooter it's not

    helping at all

Is the WIFI button missing from Internet Access? What does the status of the driver say in Device Manager?

Might your router need a reboot also to fix any bugs stored.

Power off for a few minutes then on.

Does wifi pick up any signals?

I click on the wifi incon in the system tray it says it used to say network house 1 ,

    Which is the network o

Im using to say cannot access network house 1

Now it says wifi no network detected

In device manager it says Intel dual band wireless AC 7265

Device properties this device is working properly

    Driver

    Provider Intel

    2 o6 ,2020

    Driver version

    18.51.30.1

Digital signet Microsoft windows hardware compatibility Publisher

    Drverfile details

    WWindow windows system 32

Four lines of various Driver sys

    Netwirk dat network sys

    Vnwifi bud.sys

    WWin system 32 Intel HVRoutero4.dll

I was using the laptop on a mobile phone hotspot on wifi hotspot at 5pm

    And it worked fine

Im using my phone right now on wifi

I turned off laptop it says wifi on no networks detected

On another website it says go to CMd

Type in 5 command as administrator

Also reset all existing network profiles

II know I can just go to a ship and buy a USB wifi unit and that'll probably give me wifi access on the laptop

Now it's picking up 4 networks I click connect to house 1 it's working now I load up 2 websites it says connected to network house 2

Eg it works ok for 6 seconds

I know the network is 2.4 ghz

    Is it 2.4 GHz b

    Or 2.4 GHz g

    Or 2.4 dual band b g ?

    I don't know

So if I turn on the laptop I get 6 seconds of wifi connection it connects to house 1 as soon as the laptop boots up

Loses the wifi connection after 6 seconds

Should I switch to Google DNS provider eg 8.8.8.8 dns

Is that relevant to my problem

SOunds like a driver issue. Try this:

Annoying voice, but it is factually true.

OK sorry. I was 11 minutes too late. Nevermind.

I think it's fixed WiFi connection lasted for 2 more minutes. Laptop shut itself off due to battery being at 2 per cent

    I,ll charge it tomorrow

II tried this process from another website

Go to command line as administrator

Type 4 commands something like TCP int auto tuning set sh net tcp

Turn off PC turn on again

IIt autoconnects to the wifi network when laptop boots up

I had to charge laptop while I was charging I used the web for 3 minutes then I turned off the laptop. Then I downloaded and installed a windows update for about 4 minutes and switched off the laptop laptop When the laptop powered on then

a message appeared that HP repair was in progress HP repair after 3 minutes it shows revolving circle circle disappears and it says HP repair not carried out

I clicked continue to load windows 10

Now I'm back at I turn on wifi I see 6 networks detected. It says cannot connect to house 1

I seem to going around in a circle as to i got it working for a few minutes

and now it no longer works properly

I think the network is 2.4 ghz B

I was thinking of buying this wifi usb adaptor ,

    https://www.currys.ie/products/tplink-tlwn823n-usb-wireless-adapter-n300-singleband-21342683.html

Supplied with a resource CD, it's easy to configure the TL-WN823N. Simply follow the configuration utility and the software installation and wireless network settings will be completed just few minutes. Simple for novice and experienced users alike, anyone can get quickly started and connected effortlessly.

    TP-Link TL-WN823N N300 USB

My laptop does not have a cdrom /dvd drive

so i,d have to copy the driver install files to a usb drive and copy the files to the laptop hardrive

Try updating to the latest version of the driver for that adapter.

  • Registered Users Posts: 261 ✭✭thereiver

.no it's not working It says cannot connect to network

It worked ok for 20 minutes

  • Registered Users Posts: 261 ✭✭thereiver

i,m going to buy the wifi adaptor from currys

    https://www.tp-link.com/us/win10compatibility.html

it looks like it,s plug and play compatible with windows 10

. Models marked with "Yes" can work with Windows 10 automatically. For models marked "No", Windows 10 users can try to install the Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 driver manually. For models marked "Partial", only the 2.4GHz band can be used with the Plug & Play driver on Windows 10

at the moment the network shows up when i turn on the wifi but i click on connect and it says cannot connect to network

i found a device driver file for Windows 10 i can download

    https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/tl-wn823n/
