PTSB bill pay to Electric Ireland

Usually use the bill pay on PTSB to pay money off my Electric Ireland bill. Unfortunately since February EI changed from an AIB IBAN to a Danske Bank one. Tried setting up a new bill payment on the PTSB website but the only option for EI is a predetermined IBAN which is the old AIB one.

Anyone else come across this, found a way around it ???

Yep, thanks billo516, I'll have to set it as just a payee rather than a set bill.

Typical legacy bank, move things around for their 'new' app, but in reality it's still pretty crap 🙄

Had to set it as just a normal payee rather than a one button bill payment 🙄

At least you can do that on your phone with PTSB now, used to be it had to be done on a computer.

I pay my electric Ireland bill through their website/app with my PTSB debit card. Shows up as a credit next day.

And it counts as a (small) cashback against fees.

I haven't received any notification that their payment details have changed? I use the bill pay facility through PTSB. Only just stumbled on this post so this is news to me 🤨

Letter states if any questions or concerns to ring them on 1800 372 372 or email service@electricireland.ie

Ages ago. Forgot all about it until I found it again the other day. It's not dated but it mentions that the change over was to be the 7th of February.

I’m so confused, I’ve never received a letter and I’m paying bits off my bill each week and it’s being received, using the bill pay function on PTSB!

I haven't paid anything off in a while. Might just start to do it on the app that Bojill mentioned in future.

I don't think it has anything to do with legacy banking or even banking. It is more to do with a lack of knowledge of good UI design combined with a lack of testing. The result is more and more internet discussions about where to find things after the young whipper snappers have moved and renamed them.
