Question - Nikkor Stirling for .243

Diamond Long Range 4-16x50

I have a Nikko Stirling diamond long range on my .22 and was thinking fitting it to my dads .243 deer rifle

I emailed Nikkor Stirling but no answer as to whether scope is capable if taking the larger caliber rifles

It only says :

"Shock Proof : withstands recoil"

... on their website. Bold statement if it won't hold up to any caliber so you could possibly chance it.

Had a look and yup as Cass said no definitive answer but this lot did answer a question about a diamond series scope saying it should handle 308 no problem, so 243 should be fine as that has less recoil energy:

Thanks Lads,

Will take off the current scope and trial the Nikkor on the .243 and see how it holds zero.

Dad like the fact I can make my own custom turret for adjusting elevation. so he can zero it at 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 and mark the turrets. Then range the deer and set elevation and no issues with hold overs
