I was looking at booking the Canaries for two for September - We've been a load of times and we like it there.
On a whim, I took a look at Mauritius and see that it works out at around the same price.

We got very excited looking at the beautiful hotels, beaches and crystal clear water - lots to do during the day.

However, We like the hustle and bustle of big resorts and feel that Mauritius might be too quiet at night?

Can anyone confirm this? Do you essentially just stay in the hotel at all times?

Where did you find the Mauritius holiday?

We stayed in Awali resort in Bel Ombre. Amazing part of the island and the resort was stunning but yes for the most part we stayed in the resort. The only time we left it was to go swimming with doplhins which was a trip organised through the hotel. There isn't really towns you can go to for bars and restaurants e.t.c unless you stay near Port Louis. The Mauritius holiday is very much all inclusive hotels with restaurants and activities on site designed so you don't need to leave.
