Couch grass infestation

I've a lawn that has been sown about 2 - 3 years now. There is an infestation of couch grass that I've treated with Mentor to kill it off.

Do I still need to dig them before reseeding?

Also, the lawn is quite sparse so I'm going to overseed at the same time.

My plan is to sort the couch grass if needed (dig out and replace soil), then sow some fertiliser and then finally sow the grass seed and roll it in.

I was going to aerator, but I might leave that until later in the summer. The soil is actually quite loose I've dug up some of the couch, maybe still a tad wet/sticky.

    Does this sound okay?

    Any advice? Sounds aerate sooner?

As there is creeping buttercup in the laden would that indicate a low pH and need for lime?
